5 Best Freelance Websites and Platforms

1. Flexjobs

Flexjobs was sort of the OG when it came to remote work – and they started in 2007 before it all really kicked off. They are a massive site with all kinds of jobs listed across multiple industries. They have a strong team of people reviewing all of the postings, so you know you can trust the poster and that the quality is likely higher.

2. Upwork

Upwork is one of the premier freelance sites – although many do complain about their fees – which can be on the higher side.

There is a lot of people on this platform, so the only downside is that there can be a lot of bids required to land a gig – but once you start to build that profile – the world is yours.

3. TopTal

TopTa – is just like the name says – they claim to only pick the best freelancers – so be ready to actually apply and go through a screening process to get into their pool. Once you are in, you are highly likely to land more contracts – from companies that expect quality and are prepared to pay for it.

4. Freelancer

With a name like Freelancer, you would think this would be the top of the list! Similar to Upwork – Freelancer is a marketplace for freelancers and companies, with slightly lower fees. They tend to have more of certain industries such as writing – leaving the marketplace balanced in different ways.

5. Fiverr

Fiverr is the world’s largest marketplace for digital services where individuals or companies can go to find freelancers with a skill that suits their needs, and it is considered a “micro-task” site, where you can do relatively quick, small one-off tasks which they call “gigs.”

This is a little different than some of the traditional freelance marketplaces in this regard – but if you have some specific solutions that you are able to do – or are able to package them up effectivley – then this may be a great option.
