Job Description:
About Gusto
At Gusto, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff—like payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR—so owners can focus on their craft and customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we’re proud to support more than 400,000 small businesses across the country, and we’re building a workplace that represents and celebrates the customers we serve. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy.
About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Marketing Technology team, you will drive key architectural improvements to Gusto's MarTech stack as we transition to an AI-native company. This is a full-stack, frontend-leaning role where you will design and build foundational web platform capabilities that enable teams at Gusto to engage with our customers at scale.
Your work will focus on building high-performance, highly reliable web systems from the rendering and delivery layer down to the APIs and data pipelines that feed them. You will architect how our content delivery platform integrates with customer data and personalization infrastructure, designing systems that are observable, testable, and built to last.
You'll operate at the intersection of marketing systems, AI capabilities, and platform evolution. If you are passionate about building highly reliable, frontend-focused systems that can reason, predict, and personalize to unlock Gusto's next phase of sustainable growth, we would love to have you join our team.
About the Team
The Marketing Technology team is building the next generation of infrastructure that powers Gusto's customer acquisition and engagement funnels.
Our mission is to move beyond deterministic user journeys and build intelligent, adaptive growth systems. We are building a world-class technology platform designed to understand customer intent, tailor experiences in real-time, and continuously improve through data and feedback loops. This means building for reliability, observability, and scale.
We prioritize engineering quality and technical rigor because these systems are core to Gusto's growth. We partner with Marketing, Growth R&D, and Data/AI teams to turn product and business requirements into durable technical solutions.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Architect and build high-performance, scalable web systems. Designing for performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability, not just immediate delivery.
- Own full-stack technical decisions across the frontend rendering layer, API contracts, data modeling, and backend integrations that power our customer-facing experiences.
- Design and implement distributed caching strategies across our delivery stack (CDN, edge, application layers), with a clear understanding of consistency trade-offs.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code in React, TypeScript, and Next.js, setting a bar for the team on code quality, test coverage, and engineering practices.
- Lead architecture reviews and system design discussions, producing clear technical proposals that account for scale, failure modes, and operational complexity.
- Mentor and up-level fellow engineers, establishing best practices for full-stack development, system design, and AI-native design patterns.
- Translate product and business requirements into technical architecture bridging what the business needs and what is technically sound and sustainable.
- Contribute to the team's technical roadmap, ensuring your work aligns with Gusto's transition to an AI-native company and broader team goals
Here’s what we're looking for:
- 8+ years of experience building high-scale web systems, with strong fundamentals across both frontend and backend layers.
- Strong full-stack engineering capability. You are comfortable designing APIs, modeling data, and reasoning about backend services, while being especially strong on the frontend.
- Deep frontend expertise in React, TypeScript, and Next.js, including rendering strategies (SSR, SSG, ISR), performance optimization, and component architecture.
- Systems-level thinking. You can design distributed systems, reason about failure modes, articulate trade-offs, and communicate architectural decisions clearly in writing and in review.
- Experience applying AI tools to accelerate frontend development, improve code quality, and build intelligent user experiences. Familiar with AI-driven personalization patterns and willing to experiment with AI techniques.
- Experience with web performance and caching. CDNs, edge computing, cache invalidation strategies, and how these interact with dynamic personalization.
- A high technical bar, you write testable, observable, production-grade code and hold that standard for those around you.
- Strong written communication. you can produce technical designs, ADRs, and proposals that serve both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- A balance of pragmatic execution for immediate business needs and long-term architectural thinking to build a scalable, intelligent platform.
Nice to Have
- Experience in growth engineering, product engineering, or platform engineering where you have had to balance technical quality with business outcomes.
- Hands-on experience with ML/AI integration. Personalization engines, recommendation systems, or predictive models embedded in production systems.
- Familiarity with content delivery infrastructure. Headless CMS, dynamic rendering pipelines, or experimentation frameworks.
- Experience with event-driven architectures or data pipelines used to feed AI/ML models or power real-time personalization.
- Experience with customer data platforms or behavioral analytics infrastructure.

Cube is the financial intelligence platform built for the AI-era.
The world has evolved, but FP&A is still trapped in manual reconciliation cycles. While most platforms try to replace the spreadsheets finance teams love, Cube is different: we are the intelligent finance layer that unifies fragmented data into a centralized command center. By automating data management, we empower the Office of the CFO to stop moving numbers and start driving the strategic analysis that turns data into growth.
We don’t compete with AI; we make it trustworthy. In a world where AI is often only 80% right, Cube provides the 100% truth and governance finance teams need to turn data into growth. Our mission is clean data, everywhere, allowing the modern Office of the CFO to move beyond manual data management and lead with strategic certainty.
Cube has raised >$65M and is backed by top-tier investors such as Battery Ventures and Mayfield. Together, we’re building a culture that challenges and celebrates everyone with a path to growth. We’re guided by our company values: act with urgency, keep it simple, build with joy, obsess over the details, own the outcome, raise the bar, champion our customers, and win together. As we enter our next phase of growth, we believe having the right Cubers on our team will be the reason we win.
About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Back-End Engineer to serve as a technical North Star for our engineering organization. In this role, you won’t just ship features; you will shape the architectural patterns, infrastructure standards, and engineering habits that allow our entire team to scale.

You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to transform ambiguous business needs into robust distributed systems that power real financial workflows.
This role exists at a pivotal moment in Cube’s growth. As our platform expands in complexity and scale, we’re looking for someone who can elevate system design, improve long-term reliability, and help define what great engineering looks like across the organization.
You will take ownership of complex initiatives end-to-end, influencing infrastructure, deployment strategies, observability practices, and long-term system health. This is an opportunity to help build scalable engineering foundations, reusable abstractions, and internal frameworks that accelerate the entire team.
Tech Stack
Python (Django + DRF)
MySQL, ClickHouse, Redis, RabbitMQ, Celery

Nango
Job Description:
(Remote - North America, LATAM or Europe)
Nango (YC W23) lets developers build product integrations with AI. It enables applications to connect to the real world through integrations.
More than 250 paying customers rely on Nango today, including Replit, Mercor, and Ramp. We are a YC-backed, multi-million ARR company with a team of 12 from AWS, GitHub, Okta, Snyk, Netlify, Uber, Samsara, Workato, and more.
We are hiring a Senior or Staff Frontend Engineer to join the core engineering team and own the entire frontend experience of Nango's platform. This is a critical role: as a product-led business selling to developers, the quality of our UI directly reflects our product. You will revamp our dashboard and developer-facing interfaces end to end, raising them to best-in-class standards - from information architecture and interaction design to rendering performance and polish. You will own the frontend from ideation through implementation, working closely with engineering and developer customers.
What You'll Do
Rebuild and elevate Nango's dashboard and developer-facing UI to a best-in-class standard, setting the bar for quality and craftsmanship.
Design and implement data-intensive views (logs, syncs, connection management) that are fast, readable, and a pleasure to use - even at scale.
Own frontend performance: optimize rendering, minimize bundle size, and ensure the UI feels instant.
Build polished, accessible UI components and establish scalable patterns and conventions for the frontend codebase.
Collaborate directly with developer customers to understand pain points and iterate on UX.
Contribute to backend work (Node.js/TypeScript) when needed to unblock yourself or ship a feature end to end - you don't need to be a backend expert, but you're comfortable enough to be autonomous.
Shape the product roadmap and company strategy alongside the founding team, with high ownership of the frontend direction.
Who You Are
5+ years (senior) or 10+ years (staff) of frontend engineering experience, with a portfolio or track record of shipping high-quality, production UIs.
Deep expertise with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS - our core stack.
Proven experience building complex, data-heavy dashboards or developer tools where performance and UX quality are critical.
Strong sense of UI/UX craft: you obsess over layout, spacing, interaction details, loading states, and edge cases.
Experience with frontend performance optimization - you understand virtual rendering, memoization, lazy loading, bundle analysis, and know when each matters.
Familiarity with backend fundamentals (APIs, databases, Node.js) - enough to be dangerous and self-sufficient when needed.
Experience at a high-caliber US-based tech company or developer tools company.
Passion for developer tools and building outstanding developer experiences.
Strong communicator, proactive, and reliable in a remote-first environment.
Pragmatic, positive, and low ego: you step up when needed and unblock teammates.
Startup-ready: autonomous, ownership-driven, and able to navigate ambiguity.
Based in North America, LATAM, or Europe.
If you're a seasoned frontend engineer who builds beautiful, high-performance developer interfaces, thrives on ownership, and wants to shape the future of integrations - we'd love to hear from you.

You will thrive here if you love the thrill of high-velocity optionality and the challenge of distilling complex user behaviors into seamless engagement loops on both web and native platforms.
What you'll do:

What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in product design experience, ideally within growth or high-scale consumer tech.
- Proficiency in prototyping via code (Cursor, etc.). You believe the best way to test an idea is to build it.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating a mastery of craft. Your Figma files are pristine, and your interaction details are thoughtful.
- Comfortable with rapid iteration, A/B testing, and pivoting based on performance data.
- Exceptional storyteller with strong writing and presentation skills and the ability to synthesize complex ideas into compelling narratives for executive-level reviews.
- Ability to navigate complexity and find clarity in ambiguous situations
Benefits:
- Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits and Income Replacement Programs
- 401k with Employer Match

- Design and build full-stack features across the Laravel Cloud platform — from database schema and Eloquent models through to Inertia-powered React UIs.
- Architect clean, testable Laravel backends: Actions, Form Requests, queued jobs, event broadcasting, and multi-tenant API endpoints.
- Work across a rich domain: applications, environments, deployments, databases, caches, filesystems, networking, DNS zones and observability.
- Write comprehensive Pest tests for every feature — happy paths, failure modes, and edge cases — and hold the codebase to a high standard of coverage and type safety.
- Contribute polished frontend work using React and Inertia.js — dashboards, resource UIs, real-time data, and complex form flows.
- Uphold engineering standards: PHPStan/Larastan static analysis, 100% type coverage, Pint/Rector formatting, ESLint.
- Collaborate with product and design to ship work that's both technically sound and feels great to use.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production applications with Laravel and PHP — you have deep framework knowledge and strong opinions about how to structure backend code.
- Solid understanding of Eloquent, query optimization, database design, and preventing N+1 problems at scale.
- Experience designing and building reliable background job pipelines, event-driven processes, and queued tasks in Laravel.
- Comfort building clean RESTful or JSON:API-compliant APIs — including auth, rate limiting, multi-tenancy, and versioning concerns.
- Strong React skills — you can build interactive, accessible, and performant UIs with hooks, real-time data, and solid component structure.
- Experience with Inertia.js or similar hybrid SPA patterns.
- Proficiency with modern frontend tooling (Vite, Tailwind CSS).
- A testing mindset — you reach for Pest naturally, treat tests as first-class code, and care about coverage and type safety.
- Strong communication skills — you write clearly, give useful code reviews, and collaborate well in an async remote team.
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts: DNS, TLS, containers, deployments, or managed databases.
- Real-time web experience: WebSockets, Laravel Echo, event broadcasting.
- Contributions to open source in the Laravel ecosystem.
- Familiarity with PHPStan at a high enforcement level.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Work on a product developers and teams depend on every day — your work has real and immediate impact.
- Join a small, senior team with high ownership, strong product taste, and no tolerance for accidental complexity.
- Build with modern, well-maintained tools: PHP 8.4, Laravel 12, React 19, Tailwind CSS v4 — no legacy baggage.
- Remote-first with flexibility and trust.
If you love Laravel, care about well-crafted backends, and want to help build the platform that makes deploying PHP applications effortless — we'd love to hear from you.
Benefits
- Small tight-knit team where every developer counts
- Fully remote and globally distributed working environment
- Option to attend Laracon conferences around the world
- Health care plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
- Paid time off (Vacation, Sick & Public holidays)
- Family leave (Maternity, Paternity)

Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history. This constellation delivers an unprecedented dataset of empirical information via a revolutionary cloud-based platform to authoritative figures in commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. We are both a space company and data company all rolled into one.
Customers and users across the globe use Planet's data to develop new technologies, drive revenue, power research, and solve our world's toughest obstacles.
As we control every component of hardware design, manufacturing, data processing, and software engineering, our office is a truly inspiring mix of experts from a variety of domains.
We have a people-centric approach toward culture and community and we strive to iterate in a way that puts our team members first and prepares our company for growth. Join Planet and be a part of our mission to change the way people see the world.
Planet is a global company with employees working remotely world wide and joining us from offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and The Netherlands.
About the Role:
Planet's mission is to image the entire world every day, making global change visible, accessible, and actionable. We are at a critical inflection point: moving from broad AI research to a delivery-focused "productization" model. To drive this, we are building a new product group focused on launching an AI Geospatial Assistant that transforms how our customers interact with global imagery to solve high-stakes problems in forensics and daily change detection.
Our goal is to make these complex insights accessible through an intuitive interface that requires zero user training. Operating with a zero-to-one startup mindset, this team prioritizes weekly learning velocity and customer-driven graduation criteria to move rapidly from private alpha to general availability.
While AI has enabled software engineers to more easily flex into traditional practice areas like front and back end we would like this role to be more focused on front end than not. You will work with a design lead to be an advocate for the user experience. You will solve the critical "Map-Text Disconnect" by making our global imagery an active, interactive participant in the AI conversation. Your work ensures that natural language insights are always anchored by visual evidence, transforming the solutions into a trusted, intuitive, and "wow"-inducing problem-solving tool for experts and novices alike.
This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.
Impact You'll Own:
- Lead Full Stack AI Web App Development: Take ownership of the user interface and user experience for our new AI-powered chat application, ensuring a highly intuitive, responsive, and visually engaging experience.
- Collaborate with AI Researchers: Work closely with our AI Research Team to understand their models, workflows, outputs, and emerging capabilities translating complex analytical results into clear, actionable, and visually rich information for end-users.
- Implement "Interface Advantages": Develop a side-by-side map and chat layout that lowers the barrier to entry for novices while providing deep analytics for GIS experts.
- Build Trust through Transparency: Integrate visible branding, data badges, and clickable citations to verify that AI-generated answers are grounded in real Planet imagery.
- Develop Dynamic Visualizations: Create exportable "before and after" graphics, charts, and time-series animations that translate AI insights into actionable evidence.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and deploying applications in a cloud environment.
- Optimize Performance: Ensure that "slippy map" transitions and high-resolution satellite imagery loading remain performant and seamless, even when handling complex data overlays under high user demand.
- Engineer Fluid AI Interactions: Architect sophisticated frontend/backend communication patterns (eg. through use of web sockets) to manage high-latency AI operations. You will ensure the UI remains "alive" and transparent by implementing real-time agent status updates, streaming text responses, and progressive data rendering.
- State Management for Multi-modal Conversations.
What You Bring:
- 4+ years of experience as a Full Stack or Frontend Engineer, with expertise in modern frameworks like React or Vue.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent field.
- Enthusiasm for working in an AI forward development flow. You naturally integrate AI-assisted tools into your workflow to drive your own productivity and enjoy being part of a team that treats AI as a core collaborator in the development lifecycle.
- Proficiency of mapping libraries such as Mapbox GL JS or Leaflet.
- Experience building streaming UI/UX for LLMs and LLM chat interfaces into production-grade web applications.
- Deep empathy for UI/UX principles, focused on democratizing access to complex satellite data for non-technical users.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience designing dual-mode interfaces (e.g., "Explore" vs. "Analyze") to cater to different user intents.
- Prior experience in geospatial visualization for investigative journalism, government compliance, or environmental monitoring.
- Prior experience working with AI/ML teams or integrating AI models into production applications, especially chat interfaces and agentic workflows

Job Description:
Kit is an email-first operating system for creators who mean business. We help creators grow and monetize their audience with ease. For coaches, YouTubers, authors, podcasters, and other creatives, there isn't a better marketing hub to rely on to grow audiences, automate email marketing, and sell digital products — all within one platform.
More importantly, there isn't a team more committed to helping creators earn a living. We're on a mission to help creators earn $1 billion using our creator marketing platform. We have always been 100% independent and 100% remote.
We are proud to have built a product that our customers love, and we look for people who have enthusiasm and belief in our mission, vision, and values to join our team. We're also embracing AI thoughtfully — both in how we build and how we hire to ensure our team is adaptable, innovative, and ready for what's next.
The role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to build Kit's core publishing platform and creator growth experiences.
You will be joining the Builders team, which builds the suite of publishing tools creators use to create emails, landing pages, and newsletters. Our team also stewards Kit's core application experience and design system, along with our frontend platform tooling.
This is a hands-on role for a product-minded full-stack engineer who excels at crafting exceptional user experiences. You'll architect complex features while collaborating closely with Product and Design to deliver impactful solutions that elevate how creators experience our publishing platform. You're proficient across the stack with strong backend fundamentals, but you love digging into Figma and building beautiful user experiences in close collaboration with Design. You'll help us raise the bar for our team's technical practices and code quality while architecting our biggest features.
You combine technical depth with leadership and extreme ownership. You partner closely with Product and Design to shape the "what" as well as the "how." You thrive in ambiguity, take initiative, and elevate the people around you.
Your support system
You'll report to the Engineering Manager who leads the Builders team, a cross-functional product team at Kit. You'll collaborate closely with a Product Manager, Product Designer, and peer Software Engineers.
You'll also have access to a group of Engineers across Kit for support and mentorship, and will start with a peer onboarding buddy who will help you navigate our systems and codebase.
What you'll do
First Week: Dive into our codebase and publishing platform architecture. Set up your local environment and merge your first production code. Take part in Get To Know You's to meet our distributed team.
First Month: Work through your personal onboarding plan. Begin understanding how our publishing tools support creators from onboarding to conversion, and identify opportunities for improvement. Join team activities for planning, building, and measuring the experiences we ship to creators. Actively participate in code reviews, and contribute PRs weekly.
First Six Months: Lead and architect at least one major feature from ambiguous idea to launch. Transform our legacy codebase through strategic refactoring while applying systems thinking to enhance scalability and maintainability. Drive adoption of patterns and conventions that elevate team-wide technical standards. Ensure service reliability by participating in on-call rotations. Present at least one Lunch & Learn session. Actively mentor peers, and champion quality across our codebase.
What will S.E.T. you up for success
Skills
Deep expertise developing complex web applications with high-craft beautiful user experiences, using React, JavaScript, and modern CSS frameworks like tailwind
Expertise with Ruby on Rails (preferred). Or experience with other backend frameworks with willingness to learn and master Rails. You're a strong contributor across the stack, from the browser to the database
Ability to architect systems that are well-designed, scalable, accessible, and easy to maintain, with a solid understanding of frontend testing practices
Ability to plan, estimate, and execute complex ambiguous projects independently while keeping stakeholders informed
Clear and concise communication skills, tailoring messages to the audience, and driving team clarity through open knowledge-sharing and collaboration

Four-week, paid sabbatical after five years with the team
Fantastic in-person or virtual retreats with the team twice a year
To get started, complete this application, including answers to the questions on the next page. We read every single application, and your responses to our application questions help put your experience into context. We’ll keep you informed through every step
Kit is an equal opportunity employer
We value ersity in all of its forms. Research tells us that applicants who are female or non-binary, as well as applicants who are people of color, are less likely to apply for roles they do not feel 100% qualified for. If you think you meet more than 50% of our requirements but fewer than 100% of them, please apply.
