Location: Canada
Type: Remote
Workplace: remote
Category: Software Development
Job Description:
Join Our Mission: Help the Helpers with Jane
Let's kick things off with a quick intro. Jane is a team that's all about fostering growth, spreading delight, and serving our healthcare community. We're on the hunt for people ready to jump in and join us while we simplify the lives of healthcare practitioners and patients daily. And guess what? Jane is a remote-first company, meaning every role at Jane, including this one, is remote - giving you the freedom to work from any corner of Canada.
Learn More About Us
We're founder-led, which means we live our values while maintaining a clear vision for the future. Our product enables the likes of physiotherapists, mental health counsellors, chiropractors, and other allied health practitioners to run their practices in a digital-first way through features such as online booking, charting, scheduling, telehealth, secure payments and billing along with an evolving library of features. You can see more of them here.
There is often a high bar set, not just for the quality of work, but for the care we show for each other and our customers. And it’s our customers raising that bar, never standing still and continually improving which keeps us on our toes. It's not just about what you've done before or how quickly you work; it's about your curiosity and drive to solve the right problems and your agility in learning new ways of thinking.
No doubt, Jane's a special place to work. There is autonomy and flexibility to help integrate work into your life in a way that makes sense for you. Need to block out time to pick up the kids? Go for it. That's normal here. And yes, we have a Slack channel for parents, but we've also got channels dedicated to plants, furry friends, food, pride, wellness - you get the idea! While we love to connect virtually, the Jane team also connects in person throughout the year. That comes in the form of departmental get-togethers, company retreats, or possibly a conference or two across North America if you’re keen to learn more about our community of healthcare providers. We're on the search for folks who are ready to e in and become part of our journey toward making healthcare professionals' lives easier every single day.
You can also learn more about Jane as a company and a product by checking out our Glassdoor reviews and our Capterra Reviews.
But we’ll also keep it real — as much as we love our work, the mountain we're climbing is always getting taller. We're a growing company, and with that comes the challenge of navigating an environment with many moving parts, often without a clear-cut path laid out in front of us. This is where you come in. If you're the kind of person who gets a kick out of being resourceful and loves solving problems, you'll fit right in.
We believe in collaboration, humility, and keeping a growth mindset. We're looking for people who can embrace our way of working, which often means being flexible and open to change. So, if after reading this, you feel excited about the opportunity — all in the name of helping those who help others — reach out to us to learn more.
In short, if you're excited by our growth, ready to contribute to a challenging yet rewarding environment, and eager to be a disruptor alongside a team of talented iniduals, we’d love to hear from you!

At Jane, AI is part of how we build software. The Experience We Feel We Need
- A University Degree in Computer Science or similar STEM Degree plus approximately 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Engineer
- A commitment to continuous learning and improvement in all aspects of the developer role, with a focus on growing into an expert in one or more technical domains
- Ability to independently take on clearly defined projects, implementing them with minimal guidance or course correction. Demonstrates a proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering results
- You have experience working with predefined tasks or projects, with the ability to help more senior team members in defining new tasks and actively contributing as an engaged and collaborative team player
- Integrate approved AI tools into daily workflows and critically review AI output for quality, correctness, security, and confidentiality.

Title: Senior Software Engineer – Graphics (Rendering & Real Time Systems)
Location: San Francisco
Department: EPD (Engineering, Product, Design)
Job Description:
Why Vizcom
Our mission is to reshape design by streamlining the path from concept to creation, bringing more impactful ideas into the physical world.
We’re well-funded (Series B $51m to date), growing double-digits MoM, and expanding the core engineering team in SF. The surface area is big: realtime collaboration, GPU inference at scale, a modern TypeScript stack, and serving real enterprise
The Role
As the Senior Software Engineer – Graphics (Rendering & Real Time Systems) You’ll own the rendering and interactivity layer that powers Vizcom’s creative canvas. From brush simulation to real-time lighting and 3D previews, you’ll push the limits of what’s possible in the browser. You’ll work at the intersection of WebGL, WebGPU, and AI-assisted graphics, collaborating with design and AI teams to make creativity feel instantaneous. This is a role for engineers who think like artists — people who care deeply about how pixels move, light behaves, and performance feels. Within your first 90 days you will: deliver one core rendering improvement (e.g., new brush pipeline, shader cache, or culling system) that boosts frame stability or interactivity, create a graphics profiling toolkit or debugging overlay to visualize GPU performance in production, ship one experimental graphics feature to production or beta users (for example, stylized rendering, 3D lighting, or layered compositing), and document a graphics architecture RFC clarifying design decisions and performance budgets.
Compensation
$195,000 - $225,000 annually + Offers Equity
What You’ll Do
Build the rendering engine: design and optimize Vizcom’s core WebGL/WebGPU pipeline for performance and fidelity
Push real-time UX: develop smooth brush and material interactions, animation systems, and 3D previews that respond instantly
Collaborate with AI: integrate GPU inference outputs (diffusion, segmentation, line following) into interactive visual workflows
Optimize for speed: profile GPU and CPU paths, reduce frame latency, and tune memory use for real-world workloads
Prototype new creative tools: experiment with novel rendering effects, procedural materials, and hybrid 2D/3D experiences.
Collaborate early with Design: prototype fast, test feel, and bring high-fidelity UX to life.
Mentor teammates: guide others in rendering fundamentals, performance
profiling, and graphics debugging.
The Problems You’ll Tackle
High-fanout realtime collaboration with CRDT-style data models
Rendering pipelines in WebGL/WebGPU, balancing fidelity and speed
Bundle optimization, lazy loading, and Vite build performance
Complex interaction logic that must still feel intuitive and instant
Our Stack (today)
Frontend: TypeScript, React, Vite, WebGL; realtime collaboration.
API/Backend: TypeScript/Node, GraphQL (PostGraphile), Postgres, Redis, background workers.
Infra: Kubernetes, Pulumi, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Datadog for observability, feature flags.
Security/Enterprise: SSO/SAML (WorkOS), SOC 2-minded practices.
*Experience with every item above is not required. What matters is that you are excited to shape it.
What Great Looks Like
You’ve led systems at scale in TS/Node (or similar) and know where complexity should live and where it should not.
You are equally comfortable writing code and writing RFCs, and your reviews make everyone better.
You communicate precisely in writing first, make trade-offs explicit, and keep momentum without hand-waving.
You lead through influence, not title. People invite you to reviews because you raise the conversation.
Qualifications
5–8+ years building and shipping complex frontend systems (React/TypeScript)
Strong experience with WebGL, Canvas, or custom rendering engines
Deep understanding of UI performance, profiling, and memory management
Strong eye for design quality — you care about both pixels and milliseconds
As a colleague, you enjoy planning, executing, winning and celebrating as a team
Experience working remotely and/or in a startup environment
Bonus: experience with GraphQL, WASM, GPU pipelines, or 3D scene systems
How We Work
Small team, high ownership. Fewer people, more leverage.
Design-centric. We obsess over speed and feel; “fast enough” usually is not.
Write it down. RFCs, crisp decisions, living docs.
Operate what you build. Everyone takes on-call support; incidents drive improvement, not blame.
Interview Process
Intro (30m): mutual fit, role and impact.
Architectural deep-e (45m): product and design collaboration.
Coding Session (45m):
Onsite Interview (half day)
References and offer.
Ready to Build?
If you want your work to be used daily by world-class designers and you like owning problems end to end, let’s talk. Apply with links (GitHub, LinkedIn, notable projects) and a short note on something hard you shipped.

SnapMagic is building the digital growth engine for the global electronics industry.
Our core platform, SnapMagic Search (formerly SnapEDA), already reaches 2M+ engineers annually and is the default discovery layer for electronic components. We’re now scaling SnapMagic Copilot, built on a proprietary dataset of 10M+ components, serving as the discovery and demand layer for the global electronics industry.
This role owns what ships next — and how fast it ships. We’re hiring a Director of Engineering & Product to own software, product judgment, and execution velocity end-to-end.
Read this first
This is not a role where you manage from a distance.
You build. You decide. You ship.
You do things ~3× faster than what most teams think is reasonable, without breaking trust, correctness, or scalability. You move fast because you understand the system deeply — not because you cut corners blindly. If you need long runways, perfect clarity, or heavy process to be effective, this will not be a fit.
Your job
Your job is simple and demanding:
Figure out what actually matters, build it fast, and make sure it works at scale.
You don’t inherit requirements — you interrogate them.
You don’t wait for clarity — you create it.You don’t optimize for elegance — you optimize for momentum that holds up in production.Strategy only exists here to unlock execution.
Process only exists if it increases shipping speed. What you’ll personally drive
You will directly own and move the most important systems forward, including:
* SnapMagic Copilot (LLMs, training loops, correctness, iteration speed)
* Recommendation and relevance systems* Scaling a high-usage platform and ads system under real loadYou will:
* Stay hands-on in the code (~30–40%), shipping production-quality work weekly
* Go deep into core systems: data models, ERDs, search, infra, performance, reliability* Take immediate ownership of bug and feature triage* Drive the product roadmap with the CEO — align once, then execute independently* Write clear system designs so engineers can move fast without thrash* Run weekly sprints that actually ship outcomes, not activity* Make explicit tradeoffs when speed beats elegance* Kill over-engineering and shallow progress* Communicate what shipped and why — no mysteriesSuccess is measured in shipping speed, reliability, adoption, and business impact — not tickets, specs, or theory.
How you lead
You raise the bar by example.
You create clarity so engineers can crank without constant checks.
You hire people who prioritize progress over polish. You build ownership and tech leadership so velocity compounds over time. You lead by building — not by ceremony.
This role is for you if
* You’re a builder first — coding is how you think
* You move materially faster than most strong engineers your level* You go deep before you go wide* You can live with sub-optimal solutions when the business demands momentum* You make high-judgment product and technical tradeoffs quickly* You unblock yourself and others without hand-holding* You care more about shipping than statusPeople who succeed here develop unusually strong technical and product judgment early because the responsibility is real, the scope is large, and the bar does not move.
This role is not for you if
* You want to manage instead of build
* You over-engineer before validating* You need perfect clarity to start* You prefer “interesting” problems over urgent business needs* You think you’re too senior to write code* You move at consensus speedWhy this is rare
* You’ll own all of software engineering and product for a platform used by or 2 million professional engineers
* You’ll build and scale a new product in a massive industry* You’ll operate with high trust, high autonomy, and high expectations* You’ll work directly with the CEO on real decisions* Your scope grows with results, not titleIf you do this well, the role naturally evolves into Head of Engineering → VP of Engineering.
If this feels energizing
Send:
* GitHub or LinkedIn
* A short note on something complex you built end-to-end* One example of shipping under real constraints when speed matteredBenefits
At SnapMagic, you'll work alongside bright, passionate teammates on a mission to revolutionize the $1.3 trillion electronics industry. The role won’t always be easy—but it will push you to grow, expose you to a wide range of challenges, and give you the chance to accelerate your career faster than most environments allow. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact from day one—and along the way, many of our team members build lifelong friendships and gain experience that shapes their future. Here’s what we offer:
Mission & Impact
* Make your mark – Play a key role in revolutionizing the $1.3T electronics industry by building tools engineers rely on every day
* Real ownership – We empower you to drive decisions, lead initiatives, and see the impact of your work firsthandTeam & Culture
* Tight-knit team – Join a high-trust, low-ego group of passionate builders who care deeply about the mission and each other
* Collaborative environment – We value transparency, shared context, and fast iteration across functions* Meaningful relationships – Many teammates form lifelong friendships along the wayWork Environment
* Catered lunches – Provided during in-office days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) to simplify your workweek
If you want true end-to-end ownership of complex, high-impact systems — and take pride in building things people actually want, fast — we want to hear from you.
