The Role

We’re looking for a Fullstack Engineer with deep expertise in Frontend technology to join our Mapping Engineering team. You’ll be responsible for building web-based tools and interfaces that empower engineers, operators, and stakeholders to interact with our distributed mapping systems. From visualizing map data and pipeline health to enabling map QA and debugging workflows, your work will directly impact the safety and scalability of autonomous driving. Minimum Qualifications (Must-Have)

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade frontend applications.

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field. Or relevant work experience

• Proven experience owning and shipping user-facing products, ideally in high-performance or data-intensive domains.

• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React (or similar frameworks), and state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand).

• Deep understanding of frontend performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.

• Experience working with geospatial data, map rendering libraries (e.g., Mapbox GL, Deck.gl, OpenLayers), or data visualization frameworks (e.g., D3.js).

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and GraphQL.

• BS, MS in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.

• Demonstrated success in leading frontend initiatives, mentoring engineers, and working with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Plan each sprint by coordinating with SEO, assigning ~15 pages, updating tracking sheets, & creating Workfront tickets.
• Manage external writers by providing briefs, assets, and OneDrive folders.
• Review all drafts for quality, accuracy, and SEO alignment before sending to SEO for secondary review.
• Identify and route content to the correct marketing stakeholders and clinical SMEs.
• Send review materials, track responses, follow up on delays, and escalate when needed.
• Incorporate SME feedback into final drafts and ensure all approvals are complete.
• Upload approved drafts into Workfront and notify the web team for build.
• Own Workfront ticket creation, updates, routing, and closeout.
• Manage OneDrive/SharePoint organization, version control, and file readiness.

 How does your team look like? 

The Product Engineering department consists of 35 people. You are part of a scrum team of five. Your Product Owner (PO) sets the product priorities. You are, together with the Product Owner, responsible for designing and implementing new functionalities aimed at growing our user engagement targets. This means that you, as a developer, have influence on what to build, and how to build it. You report to our Head of Engineering, Stefan. He started as a developer at Studyportals and knows his way around the systems. His main responsibility is to make sure you can do your work in the best possible way, taking away impediments, driving technical innovation and making sure you can be the best version of yourself. 

 What Tech Stack do we use? 

The technology behind Studyportals’ platforms is based on PHP, Typescript, Node/NPM, Docker and AWS. Virtually all our systems have been developed in-house and are following modern quality standards. We work in a service-oriented architecture, powered by our own RESTful API and AWS. In parallel, we are scaling up our infrastructure, moving towards SOC2 compliance. 

We also experiment with new technologies when they help us innovate faster or smarter - from AI tooling to emerging frameworks. 

Requirements

• At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field

• You have 6+ years of experience as a Full Stack Web Developer

• Experience building applications in JavaScript component-based frameworks (e.g., VueJS, React or Angular). Modern JavaScript, TypeScript, NPM, and Webpack. Proficient in both Front-end and Back-end development

• HTML5 and SCSS/CSS3 are second nature to you, and you care about performance, accessibility, and responsive design
