About the Role

We are hiring a Head of Design, Product & Brand to become Vida’s first dedicated design leader.

This is a senior, hands-on design leadership role. You will set the design direction for Vida, build the foundation for our product and brand systems, and personally own a meaningful amount of execution across product design, website, brand, and go-to-market materials.

Design is already deeply valued at Vida. Members of the founding team have design backgrounds, and design has played an important role in how we think about product, brand, customer experience, and company building from the beginning. This role is not about introducing design to the company for the first time — it is about giving design a dedicated leader who can raise the bar, create systems, and help us scale.

In the near term, this is primarily an inidual contributor role. You should be excited to both define the design function and do the work: designing complex B2B workflows, creating polished product experiences, improving our website, developing brand systems, and helping the company communicate the value of AI agents clearly.

You will report to the CPO and partner closely with product, engineering, sales, marketing, and company leadership.

What You’ll Do

Product Design

• Lead UI and UX design for Vida’s core platform, including agent creation, configuration, testing, monitoring, analytics, reseller workflows, administrative experiences, and customer-facing tools.

• Turn ambiguous product problems into clear, usable, high-quality interfaces.

• Design workflows for complex AI agent use cases, including voice agents, computer-use agents, integrations, logs, tasks, inboxes, and reseller/customer management.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, interaction models, and production-ready designs.

• Improve information architecture so users can understand and manage increasingly powerful AI systems.

• Establish and maintain a scalable product design system in collaboration with engineering.

Brand, Website, and Go-to-Market Design

• Own the evolution of Vida’s visual identity across web, product marketing, sales, and customer-facing materials.

• Design and improve the company website, including landing pages, product pages, conversion flows, and campaign pages.

• Create high-quality creative assets for sales decks, executive and company presentation materials, launch announcements, email campaigns, social, and events.

• Partner with leadership, sales, and marketing to translate Vida’s product vision into clear and compelling visual storytelling.

• Help define how Vida shows up in the market as a trusted AI agent platform.

Design Leadership

• Define the design bar for Vida across product, brand, and go-to-market surfaces.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, brand design, or a related design role.

• Strong portfolio showing excellent product design craft, especially for complex workflows or B2B software.

• Strong visual design skills, including layout, typography, hierarchy, interaction design, and brand expression.

• Experience designing complex B2B, SaaS, workflow, automation, platform, developer, or enterprise products.

• Ability to simplify complex systems without oversimplifying the underlying power.

• Comfort moving between product design and brand/marketing design.

We're witty, stylish, and culturally fluent, the kind of brand that says what people actually feel. Our visuals need to match: bold, modern, internet-native, never bland. We're looking for a part-time contract graphic designer whose work brings exactly that energy.

This is a hands-on maker role, not a strategy seat. You'll be turning out a steady stream of scroll-stopping graphics across our channels, working fast, iterating on what performs, and keeping a consistent, modern, design-forward look.

We provide planning, financing, and wealth management for people whose net worth is concentrated in illiquid stock — a problem the traditional financial industry has largely ignored.

The majority of our customers are in the US. Our headquarters is in Manhattan, where our business, investment, advisory, and finance teams are based. About the role

We're at an inflection point. We recently launched Maeve, our AI assistant specialized in what Secfi does best — equity planning and wealth strategy for startup employees. And we're evolving our portfolio value tracker, the flagship tool customers use to understand what their equity is actually worth, from a static valuation view into a live surface that weaves in pricing signals, market news, and AI-generated insights.

The product surface is expanding faster than one designer can hold. This is mostly a product design role — roughly 90% product, with the occasional landing page, campaign asset, or pitch slide in the mix. You won't be hired for brand work, but a bit of it comes with the territory.

You'll be the second designer, working alongside a senior designer who's currently remote. The design function is small and still taking shape — that's the opportunity. You'll own real surfaces from day one, help define how design works here as the team grows, and report to a manager who came up through design leadership and is invested in your craft. This is a senior IC role: if you want to go deep and help shape a function rather than slot into a fixed ladder, that's the trade on offer.

Your manager is Robin, our Senior Director of Product, Technology — a former design director. Conversations about design happen in substance, not vague reactions, and you won't need to translate your decisions into executive-speak to be heard.

What you'll work on in your first year

• Maeve. Shape how customers interact with our AI assistant — how it shows up, when it speaks, how trust gets built into an interface where an LLM is advising on money. A product surface we're still defining.

• Portfolio value tracker. We're layering in new data signals — real-time pricing, market news, AI-generated insights. Your job is to design how customers make sense of an increasingly rich information stream without it becoming overwhelming. Information design meets financial UX.

• Core product. Continuous improvement to onboarding, advisory flows, and existing surfaces.

• The occasional brand moment. A landing page, a campaign visual, a pitch slide. Roughly 10% of your time.

What we're looking for

Senior product design craft. You've shipped meaningful product work at companies where design quality mattered — SaaS, consumer, or genuinely complex tools. You can walk us through the thinking behind the work, not just the screens.

End-to-end ownership. You can run a project from discovery to ship without detailed art direction, and you're comfortable being one of two designers on the team.

Systems thinking. You design with the next ten screens in mind. Consistency without preciousness — you can extend a design system and you know when to break it.

Real curiosity about AI. You use AI tools in your own workflow and you tend to find the new one before the team does. You're excited to design for AI products too — Maeve and the tracker are where a lot of your work will land, and we want someone who sees that as the interesting part of the job.

Based in or able to be in Amsterdam, and fluent in English. Dutch is not required.

Extra point for:

• Financial product experience. We don't expect you to arrive knowing equity, vesting, or tax — most of our team didn't. If you've designed for money before, great. If not, show us you can hold complexity and you'll be fine.

• Brand and marketing range. Helpful for the ~10% of the role that lives there, but it's not why we're hiring you.

• Design systems experience. You'll help evolve ours; prior work building or scaling one is a plus.

Product & Web Design

USB Club ships a MacOS desktop app & iOS app that you can access when you own one of our USBs. You use the desktop app to share files and collect files from other people, both onto your USB and more generally on the network.

You can think of it kinda like Limewire or a torrenting platform of the early 00’s. Something that happens behind the scenes, something where culture moves silently - if you know, you know.

Engineering

Our desktop app is an Electron app, our iOS app is a true native app. Our website is in Vue (although we’ll likely move to Next.js soon), and our API is in Typescript on PostgresQL.

We have some dashboards in Retool, and we integrate with Typeform & Airtable.

While we’ll have the support of Sanctuary Computer when necessary, we’re hoping this inidual can hold their own in the code, and confidently ship production-grade features without much hand holding.

Social, Posters, Campaigns & Messaging

A big part of USB Club is the posters, campaigns, and general messaging strategies that we put onto the internet. A big part of what we do is to build culture around the network. Not only should we be thinking about the product as something that can be improved and more accessible and more utilitarian but also as something where culture happens behind the scenes.

Time & Compensation

Compensation for this role will be on an hourly basis (rates discussed via email, pending seniority and ability). The hourly rate here is $40 - $75/hr,
