About Ramp
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $100B in annualized spend flows in and out of 50,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
About the Role
We are hiring a Software Engineer to build systems across Fraud, UIM (User & Identity Management), and Identity. This role sits at the intersection of security, risk decisioning, and product experience. You will help build detection and enforcement capabilities for fraud and account takeover, as well as the identity primitives that power authentication, authorization, and safe account access.
This work is deeply cross-functional. You will partner closely with Fraud Ops, Risk Strategy, Security, Product, and Data to ship improvements that are measurable in loss reduction, attack containment, and user experience.
What You’ll Do
Build and evolve backend services that detect and prevent fraud across multiple surfaces, including account access and money movement.
Develop enforcement and response tooling that enables fast, safe actions such as identity locks, business locks, payment freezes, and other containment levers.
Improve protections against account takeover (ATO), including risk-based step-ups, monitoring, and targeted friction controls (for example “under attack” style controls and MFA surge detection/alerting).
Design and operate high-signal systems with strong observability: metrics, dashboards, alerting, and playbooks for incidents and fraud campaigns.
Partner with UIM/Identity stakeholders to strengthen authentication and identity foundations (roles, permissions, identity state, and related platform primitives).
Drive end-to-end delivery: technical design, implementation, rollout strategy, and iteration based on outcome metrics.
What You’ll Need
3+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent).
Strong backend engineering fundamentals (APIs, distributed systems, data modeling, reliability).
Experience building data-informed detection or decisioning systems (rules engines, scoring, anomaly detection, or similar), or strong interest in learning in this domain.
Proven ability to operate production systems: debugging, incident response, and improving on-call quality through instrumentation and automation.
Strong cross-functional communication skills and comfort working with product and operations partners.
Nice to Have
Experience in fraud, risk, identity, authentication, authorization, abuse prevention, or security engineering.
Familiarity with payments rails, card transaction risk, or account security patterns.
Experience building internal tools for operations teams (case management, investigation, enforcement workflows).
Benefits (for U.S.-based full-time employees)
100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for you
Partially covered for your dependents
One Medical annual membership
401k (including employer match on contributions made while employed by Ramp)
Flexible PTO
Fertility HRA (up to $10,000 per year)
Parental Leave
Unlimited AI token usage
Pet insurance
Centralized home-office equipment ordering for all employees
Health and Wellness stipend
In-office perks: lunch, snacks, drinks, and more
Budget for intra-office travel
Relocation support to NYC or SF (as needed)
Referral Instructions
If you are being referred for the role, please contact that person to apply on your behalf.
Other notices
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Job Description:
About MoonPay
Hi, we’re MoonPay. We’re here to onboard the world to the decentralized economy by making digital money move as universally and effortlessly as the internet.
Why?
Because crypto, stablecoins and blockchain aren’t just technologies. They’re tools for global financial empowerment. They give people and businesses more control over their money, their digital assets, and their future, opening access to legacy financial systems that have been out of reach for many.
What we do
MoonPay is a unified payments platform for digital currency. We make it easy for anyone, anywhere, to buy, sell, swap and pay in digital currencies as easy as sending an email. That simplicity is intentional, our focus is reducing complexity so people can participate confidently, without needing to be crypto experts. We power the entire flow between fiat and crypto end to end, with compliance, identity checks, fraud prevention, and settlement all built in. This end-to-end approach reflects how we work internally: with accountability, rigor, and trust built into everything we ship.
Proven at scale
Trusted by over 30 million customers and over 500 ecosystem partners, our secure, enterprise-grade platform is driving mainstream crypto adoption worldwide. Behind those numbers are millions of real people and organizations relying on MoonPay every day.
We collaborate with innovative brands and projects to build secure, scalable solutions for a blockchain-powered future. This is an opportunity to help shape systems, not just scale them. And we’re committed to doing it right. Fully licensed in the U.S. and regulated across the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia, because trust and compliance are non-negotiable.
But we’re just getting started. We’ve launched a consumer app that makes crypto accessible, intuitive, and usable for everyone, and it’s growing fast. We’re iterating every day to make it the best it can be.
If you believe financial freedom should be for everyone. If you believe in building a fairer, more open financial system - we want you with us. To build systems that benefit all, we need contributions from all, regardless of background.
Come build the future of payments and the decentralized economy with MoonPay. Let’s make financial freedom and autonomy the new normal.

About Trase
Co-founded in 2023 by Joe Laws and Grant Verstandig, Trase Systems is AI, Uncomplicated. Trase empowers enterprise leaders to harness the full potential of AI without the associated complexity and risks. We are an end-to-end solution for deploying, managing, and optimizing AI in the enterprise. Our platform specializes in bridging the “last mile” of AI adoption, unlocking AI's full potential while driving efficiency and significant cost savings. Trase is at the forefront of AI Agent innovation, topping the Hugging Face GAIA Leaderboard for Generalized AI Assistants, ahead of industry giants such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI. We are leveraging our cutting-edge technologies to develop mission-critical agentic applications in complex industries such as Healthcare, Oil & Gas, and National Security.
About The Role
As Principal Software Engineer, you’ll own the core execution model and platform architecture of Trase OS - the shared platform (“agentic operating system”) that powers all Trase deployments in regulated environments. You’ll define the abstractions and APIs that connect workflows, agents, tools, and product surfaces, and ensure the correctness, scalability, and extensibility of the system.
This is a company-critical role: you are responsible for how the system behaves under real-world conditions, including failure, scale, and security constraints. Your work sets the technical direction for the platform and acts as a force multiplier across all engineering teams.
Clean abstractions and correctness-under-failure are critical because we operate long-lived agents in healthcare/defense environments where auditability and reliability are non-negotiable.
Why This Role Is Needed
Trase OS is an orchestration-heavy system coordinating long-lived workflows, agents, and tools across multiple services and environments.
As the platform evolves, the primary risks shift from implementation to system design quality:
- Poor abstractions create tight coupling across services
- Workflow execution becomes difficult to reason about under failure
- Platform capabilities fragment instead of becoming reusable primitives
- Scaling introduces complexity instead of leverage
This role exists to:
- Define clean, durable abstractions for the platform execution model
- Ensure correctness and determinism in workflow execution
- Translate evolving product requirements into coherent platform architecture
- Enable teams to build on Trase OS without introducing systemic complexity
What Makes This Role Hard
- You are designing systems where failure is the norm, not the exception, and correctness must be preserved across retries, restarts, and partial execution
- You must balance clean abstractions with real-world constraints (performance, security, multi-tenant environments)
- Decisions made here become foundational primitives used across all products and teams
- The system must remain understandable and auditable, even as complexity and scale increase
Responsibilities
- Architect & lead the core execution model (state machine, lifecycle, resource model, failure semantics)
- Design platform APIs/SDKs connecting workflows, agents, tools, and product surfaces; drive versioning & compatibility
- Guarantee correctness via idempotency, deterministic replays, compensating actions, and data integrity
- Engineer reliability at scale: concurrency controls, rate limits, backpressure, sharding/partitioning, and workload isolation
- Build security & governance into the core: RBAC/ABAC, policy enforcement, fine-grained audit & lineage
- Deliver observability: distributed tracing, structured logs, metrics, and evaluation hooks; build an “explainable trail” of agent actions
- Own quality: design reviews, test strategy (unit, property, chaos), performance baselines, SLOs, incident response, and postmortems
- Mentor & unblock senior engineers; partner with Product, Security, and Customer teams to translate requirements into durable primitives
- Make pragmatic choices on storage, queueing, and compute; create paved roads that accelerate all other teams
- Define system boundaries and reduce cross-service coupling through clear architectural patterns
- Drive platform-wide standards for correctness, reliability, and API design across teams
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural integrity, ensuring the platform evolves without accumulating systemic risk
Principal-level Technical Leadership
- Define and drive the long-term technical architecture of Trase OS across teams and domains
- Influence company-wide technical direction for platform and product systems
- Lead cross-team initiatives that shape how workflows, agents, and platform primitives are built and evolve
- Partner with leadership to align technical architecture with product and business strategy
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and raise the bar for system design and architectural thinking
Requirements
- 12-15+ years of experience building distributed/platform systems, including significant experience defining architecture across teams or domains
- 10+ years owning mission-critical runtimes or workflow/orchestration systems
- Deep expertise with durable execution (e.g., state machines, event sourcing, saga/compensation, idempotency, exactly/at-least-once semantics)
- Proven track record with security & governance in production systems (auth, RBAC, audit, policy)
- Hands-on with observability (Grafana or equivalent), including trace correlation across async boundaries
- Strong systems design across storage, queues, schedulers, and evented architectures; performance tuning under load
- Excellence in a modern language (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, or TypeScript) and cloud-native stacks (containers, CI/CD, IaC)
- Comfortable operating in regulated or high-assurance environments; bias toward correctness, clarity, and documentation
- Proven ability to influence technical direction across an organization and drive adoption of architectural standards
- Ability to incorporate advance LLM capabilities into system design and platform architecture decisions where appropriate
Nice to Have
- Prior work on workflow engines (Temporal/Cadence/AWS Step Functions, Argo, Airflow) or serverless runtimes
- Experience with policy engines (OPA), secrets/KMS, or data-handling controls (PII/PHI)
- ML/LLM evaluation frameworks, tool/plugin architectures, or embedding model governance into execution
- Government or healthcare experience (HIPAA, audit readiness) and multi-tenant isolation
Salary Range: $240,000-290,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience, skills, and other factors.

Staff Software Engineer - Social Commerce
San Francisco Bay Area or Remote (U.S.)
Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.
The Social Commerce team is building a storefront for game developers to sell directly to their players in Discord. This is a new initiative that has seen a lot of early success, and we're expanding it to support more games and platforms. But we're not just building a shop — Discord is where friends already hang out, play together, and share the things they love. We are building commerce experiences that no other platform can: purchasing that's social, contextual, and embedded in the games people already play and places they already spend time. If you are excited to get in on the ground floor of this new product, then this role is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building cross-platform purchase flows, social gifting experiences, and commerce surfaces that meet users where they already are — in voice, in chat, on mobile.
- Owning projects end-to-end: scoping, designing, building, shipping, and iterating based on experiment results. You'll run A/B tests, read the data, and make the call on what to do next.
- Working directly with game studio partners to understand their needs, answer technical questions, and improve the tools we build for them.
- Collaborating closely with product, design, and game developers to cut through ambiguity on a product where the playbook is still being written.
- Partnering with other product teams to design shared commerce primitives that work across Discord.
- Raising the bar for the engineers around you through code review, technical design input, and leading by example on quality and ownership.
What you should have
- 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, including experience leading cross-functional projects as an inidual contributor.
- Strong expertise in at least a couple of the major parts of our stack: Python, TypeScript/React, and mobile with React Native. You're comfortable switching between stacks and have a track record of picking up new ones quickly.
- A product sense that goes beyond implementation. You'll be collaborating with PMs and designers daily, and we need someone who can push back, suggest alternatives, and help shape what we build.
- Comfort with ambiguity and experimentation. This team ships A/B tests, reads results, and changes direction. You should be someone who thrives in that environment rather than waiting for a fully-baked spec.
- A bias toward solving problems from first principles. You learn from what didn't work and help the team do the same.
Bonus Points
- Extensive experience with React Native for mobile development.
- Experience with game development or game platform ecosystems.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure) for production backend systems.
This position is US-based and can be remote but if you live in the Bay Area, you’re welcome to work from our beautiful SF office. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000 to $279,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, inidual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
Why Discord?

We're a multiplatform, multigenerational and multiplayer platform that helps people deepen their friendships around games and shared interests. We believe games give us a way to have fun with our favorite people, whether listening to music together or grinding in competitive matches for diamond rank. Join us in our mission!
