The Role

We’re looking for a Paralegal to the commercial legal team. You will be a partner to the business, including sales, marketing, and engineering teams on any commercial matters. In this role, you are responsible for supporting the team on a variety of customer and vendor contracts that are crucial to our company’s operations and success. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a growth mindset, and strong interest in commercial work. Additionally, the candidate has the ability to adapt to a dynamic business and is comfortable with changes and is able to deliver practical advice that appropriately balances business needs with risks.

What You’ll Do

• Contract administration and general legal document organization: track, manage forms/templates, obtaining signatures, inputting contracts into our contract management system, ensuring certificates of insurance are completed by request, maintain and file organized records.
• Oversee the contract process between the Sales and Commercial Legal teams.
• Basic legal drafting, redlines, review and approval of a variety of agreements including Data Privacy Agreements, NDAs, Master Services Agreements, template agreements, school vendor procurement forms, request for proposals, other bid related contracts, and amendments.
• Effective written and oral communication with colleagues across departments and external vendors or customers, if needed.
• Work cross-functionally with business and legal colleagues to support the business.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Current Certified Paralegal status in California is a plus
• 3+ years of experience as a paralegal at a law firm and/or technology company
• Prior experience supporting a heavy volume of commercial transactions relevant to a technology company across various business functions in a fast-paced environment
• PST time zone preferred
• Familiarity with contracting with K-12 public schools, local governments, and/or state governments is a plus
• Independent, self-starter who operates autonomously while being a collaborative team player

The typical base salary range for this position is $89,000 – $115,000 per year. Your Mission

Description

Position Objective:

To refine and implement best practices related to eDiscovery and data workflow, and support the eDiscovery needs of in-house and outside counsel

To provide paralegal support to in-house attorneys on a wide range of litigation matters that arise in the course of our clients’ work to protect animals

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Serves as subject matter expert and central point of contact relating to eDiscovery, including by overseeing legal holds, managing evidence collections, and conducting data processing projects for all client isions within PETA and the PETA Foundation

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of eDiscovery best practices, including with respect to document preservation protocols and relevant eDiscovery technology, and works with litigators to implement those practices and technologies

Advises and supports attorneys in ensuring a defensible and consistent approach to identifying and implementing best practices for the identification, preservation, collection, analysis, processing, review, and production of paper and electronic data

Collaborates with litigators and internal IT personnel to ensure defensible and consistent practices in compliance with applicable rules (e.g., Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), state civil rules, local rules, chambers rules)

Serves as a liaison between litigators, internal IT personnel, and outside counsel to ensure a successful workflow during eDiscovery

Participates in appropriate industry organizations to stay current with developments in eDiscovery best practices and technology

Recommends process improvement to ensure high-quality, timely and cost-effective eDiscovery practices

Assists legal team in all aspects of litigation including, but not limited to, the eDiscovery process

Under supervision of litigation attorneys, assists with correspondence, pleadings, notices, calendar requests, status reports, subpoenas, affidavits, depositions, expert reports, and discovery requests and responses

Conducts legal research under supervision of litigation attorneys

Cite-checks briefs, assists in the preparation of supporting exhibits, and generates tables of authorities and tables of contents

Assists with preparations for meetings, hearings, mediations, and trials

Organizes and maintains case files and docket deadlines

Performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have substantive experience in eDiscovery or litigation support and either (1) three years of experience as a certified paralegal or (2) a bachelor’s degree plus at least two years of paralegal experience in litigation.

The salary range for this position is $63,792.00 to $78,930.00 annually. The ultimate salary within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.

Legal Analyst

Corporate Hybrid – United States or Canada

Compensation

• Works under direction and supervision of Advocate Health attorneys to provide legal support to, and otherwise support, enterprise entities.

Job Summary

The Corporate Paralegal is a key member of bswift’s Legal Department. In this role you will assist in creating and implementing new processes for the Legal team. In addition, you will have significant contact within bswift including Executives, sales and engineering. You will report to the Chief Legal Officer and will support the Legal Department team.

Responsibilities

Legal Department Management / Organizational Maintaining and organizing the Legal Department centralized filing system and all legal files in SharePoint or other relevant database Monitoring/managing legal task queue and assigning work to legal department personnel Collecting Legal Department operational metric data and generating reports Assisting in litigation management and coordinating with outside counsel as needed Maintaining the master IP (trademark and patent) files and coordinating with outside counsel on upcoming filings Conducting contract portfolio and basic legal research Working closely with the Legal Department team on day-to-day activities, including general administrative support, as required by legal and business needs

In this role, you will report to the Deputy General Counsel and work closely with the growing Fintech and Cloud legal team, product leads, and other senior business partners to drive and execute commercial contracts with Hopper’s B2B partners around the world. Achieve optimal results in B2B contract negotiating across a wide range of legal topics, such as intellectual property, sanctions compliance, payments regulation and data privacy. This full-time staff person will provide administrative, legal research, and litigation support services for CATF’s nine member attorney Legal team, and the CATF programs they serve.
