The project

Nomos is a sovereign, modular, zk-encrypted network of blockchains. The trustless agreements layer of the Logos stack. The forthcoming Nomos network will provide a common infrastructure layer upon which communities and aspiring network states can build social, governance, and financial services that uphold their community members’ fundamental rights and values.

Key Responsibilities

This role is dedicated to applied research. Primarily, as a researcher, you will contribute to the design of new architectural solutions.

You will design, specify and verify distributed systems by leveraging formal and experimental techniques; build proof of concepts and prepare executable specifications for the development team.

It’s expected you regularly go through papers, bring new ideas and stay up-to-date with what is emerging in the space (blockchain, other L1s, distributed systems, Zero-Knowelde proofs, etc.).

You will conduct theoretical and practical analysis of the performance of distributed systems and present research results within the org and externally (e.g. conferences).

About the Role

The Software Engineer in Test is responsible for the planning, execution and reporting of test results on all products developed in Product Engineering. A Software Engineer in Test will be able to be given direction and work independently, providing updates to their manager on a timely basis. A Software Engineer in Test is expected to have basic knowledge on at least one product and will be able to assist on other products as needed. In addition, they will perform feature, regression and system level testing as well as assist in the development of processes and procedures related to product development.

Your Impact

• Own the testing strategy for existing and new products

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems to support billing system. Responsibilities:

Designing and developing high-performance, scalable backend services using Python.

Collaborate with the Product Manager, Tech Lead/Tech Lead Manager, cross functional teams, and other team

members to define, design, and ship new features.

Implementing and maintaining APIs for seamless integration with frontend and third-party systems.

Manage own tasks and deliverables. Compile and analyse data, processes, and code base to troubleshoot problems,

identify areas for improvement and share findings/learning with other team members by actively participating in team

meetings.

Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices and coding standards.

Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.

Participating in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Focus on efficiency, process improvement, system stability and end-user experience.

Self motivated. Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in backend development and software

engineering.

Requirements

5+ years of Proven experience as Backend Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of backend

technologies and architectures.

5+ years of experience implementing RESTful services and APIs.

Experience with No-SQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Kafka and containerisation technologies (e.g.,

Docker, Kubernetes).

Strong understanding of the Software development cycle, programming techniques and tools.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
