ALL SOURCEGRAPH ROLES ARE FULLY REMOTE
Who we are
Our mission at Sourcegraph is to make it so that everyone can code, not just ~0.1% of the population. Our code graph powers Cody, the most powerful and accurate code AI for writing, fixing, and maintaining code, as well as our Code Search product, helping devs explore their entire codebase and make large-scale migrations and security fixes. We’re building software that builds software, and in doing so we’re making devs more productive and growing the population of coders by giving anybody access to the deep knowledge base of a senior engineer through Cody and all of the context it brings. We’re preparing for a world with a lot more code than exists today, and that benefits us all.
It’s an exciting time to join Sourcegraph. AI has taken over the world, and we’ve spent the last 10 years building infrastructure that’s integral to making AI generated code more powerful and accurate. Our customers include 4/5 FAANG companies, 4 of the top 10 banks, government organizations, Uber, Plaid, and many other companies building the software that pushes the world forward. We’ve raised $225M at a $2.625B valuation from Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, Redpoint, Craft and others. We’re making ambitious bets on our future and we’re looking to hire exceptional people to join our team as we make Sourcegraph one of the biggest and most influential companies in the world.

Given that we are an all-remote company and hire almost anywhere in the world, we don’t have a particular time-zone preference for this role. However, you may need to be available for non-recurring urgent meetings outside of working hours.
Why this job is exciting

Our rapid development pace means that building and releasing our products to the market is a unique challenge, from overseeing the release of all components supporting Cody to Cody itself, building the tools to provide a self-service experience to all teammates, to taking part in building a quality infrastructure to monitor Cody quality.
We are looking for a Release Engineer to join the Developer Infrastructure team to take our release process to the next level, turning it into a seamless process for everyone, maximizing the ownership of inidual teams with a platform based approach.
By joining our team, you will directly impact how Cody and our Code Intelligence platform is released to the world and be at the crossroads of all Sourcegraph teams by building mission critical tools to support our mission. - Gain a more profound understanding of the needs of the product and become comfortable with diagnosing issues.
- Deliver on your first initiative and measure the impact by tracking and looking at the data.
Within six months, you will
- Be seen as a subject matter expert in an area that interests you.
- Make a significant impact by being a key contributor and help us improve our existing engineering practices.

About you
You are a polyglot hacker in the dev-ops space, and you’re passionate about tools, developer-experience, and infrastructure, with a solid experience of the challenges faced by other developers. Your strong sense of empathy helps you to understand your peers’ challenges and you sharply understand how to balance solving now and future problems, carving a path to implement your vision.
First, you have a deep understanding of the software lifecycle, having experienced it yourself by working on the product side, and a strong familiarity with all the tools supporting it; e.g.:
- You’ve worked with Bazel or other build systems to support polyglot codebases.
- You’ve set up delivery pipelines of various shapes and various constraints.
- You’re naturally putting yourself in the shoes of other developers and constantly seek to understand their perspective.
- You’ve worked closely with Security teams and you’re familiar with their tools.

We are seeking a data associate responsible for designing and implementing our data systems for enrolling and paying recipients.
This role is an opportunity to deepen your project management skills and gain experience writing code. You will own all technology-related aspects of new project launches: working with our operations team to define and implement program requirements, project managing the implementation across multiple stakeholders, and analyzing, structuring, and acting on program data. This role is fully remote but must overlap with an East Africa timezone by at least 4 hours.
Reports to: Senior Technical Program Manager
Level: Associate
Travel Requirement: Ability to travel ~1-2 times per year to one of our countries of operation for team retreats or field visits
What you’ll do:
- Partner with our field operations team to design and operationalize new cash delivery program launches, helping GiveDirectly to reach more people across more geographies
- Build, manage, and implement the technology used to deliver those program launches, from surveys for enrolling recipients to the data model used to store data about payments in Salesforce (our central recipient data store)
- Debug and resolve issues across multiple layers of our technology stack, including Salesforce and our offline survey app
- Scope and manage cross-cutting systems improvements to improve efficiency, scale, and/or recipient experience with mentorship
- Write code (usually Python) for automating and improving our processes
- Own the end-to-end technology of cash transfer projects that build off of standard operational models
What you’ll bring:
- Exceptional alignment with GiveDirectly Values and active demonstration of our core competencies: emotional intelligence, problem solving, project management, follow-through, and fostering inclusivity. We welcome and strongly encourage applications from candidates who have personal or professional experience in the low-income and/or historically marginalized communities that we serve.
- Language Requirement: English
- At least 2 years of professional experience (we welcome a range of skill sets and backgrounds; related fields could include finance, data analytics, project management, program management, international development, or management consulting)
- Strong data skills: able to leverage tools to extract, clean, manipulate, and analyze data to make operational decisions
- Deep comfort with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong project management experience: experience in managing timelines, stakeholders, and complex deliverables
- Significant interest in technology, systems design and building
- Ability to collaborate inclusively with stakeholders across varied social, national, and cultural backgrounds, including communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Intermediate experience with a programming/statistical language (like Python, R, Matlab, Java, or Apex). Note: this job could include business logic and analysis automation, but it is not an engineering or data science job.
Compensation
At GiveDirectly, we strive to pay our employees generously and equitably. Data Engineer
Company: Seesaw Learning
Location: Remote – US Team: Engineering Work Type: Full TimeAbout Us:
Seesaw is an ed-tech company that opens the window to learning, allowing the brilliance and uniqueness of every elementary student to shine through to teachers and families. More than 10 million people across 150+ countries use our all-in-one education platform monthly.
Historically, families had little insight into what their children were learning in school, and students had to demonstrate their skills in a one-size-fits-all way that failed to capture the depth of their knowledge. Since 2013, Seesaw has paved a new way for learning by enabling families to participate in their children’s education. Our platform generates a powerful learning loop that connects teachers, families, and students, thus creating an environment where every student can thrive.
Our Mission:
Seesaw’s mission is to create an experience where students are inspired to be their best. We all deeply value education and come to work knowing that what we do today enables future generations. Seesawers take pride in knowing that our work makes the learning experience better and more accessible to all.
Your Team:
Solving impactful problems on Seesaw’s Engineering team feels different from any other place. First, we are given lots of ownership over the product roadmap early on, collaborating on how and when things will be built from the start. Second, we have a strong connection to the user, listening to teacher feedback and observing how students and families interact with the platform in real life to iterate over our releases. And third, we enjoy ample autonomy to experiment and grow, and often see our ideas pushed to production in weeks, not months.
Globally, millions of children rely on Seesaw every day. That fact is inspiring, and at times, daunting. While we derive a deep sense of purpose from being able to improve students’ learning, it also means we’re emotionally invested in both the successes and failures. So when a child can’t log into their account or something on the platform breaks, we feel it.
Like the rest of the company, our team is growing fast. Keeping up with the pace of growth can be challenging, and we need your flexibility as we define and refine what we need to be. We often learn by shipping, so you won’t find an obsession with rigid processes here. As the Engineering team ramps up hiring, we’re committed to ersity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); constantly surveying employees, participating in training, and learning from our DEI Committee.
Though we care deeply and work diligently, there’s no extra credit for working long nights or spending weekends squashing bugs. When we’re off, we’re really off, enjoying our personal lives and recharging our batteries.
At the end of the day, we delight in how much our users adore our product. It’s incredibly fulfilling to read thank you tweets from teachers and know that, hey, we built something that makes a meaningful impact! And while we saw massive growth during the pandemic, we’ve still got a lot more growing to do. Joining our team now means you’ll get to help us take on new markets and innovate the next features that make the learning experience even better.
