Hi, my name’s Hannah and I run Altitude, a climbing platform co-founded by Magnus Midtbø. In the last year, we’ve created and launched online courses with some of the world’s best climbers: Adam Ondra, Dave MacLeod, Hazel Findlay, and Alex Megos.

As well as online courses, we’re now venturing into the world of climbing retreats, having hosted our first wildly successful retreat a few months ago in Mallorca with Chris Sharma taking two groups of attendees Deep Water Soloing. 

And this year we’re gearing up to host a few more.

We’re a very small team, and completely remote. To make our retreats a success, we’re looking for an Event Host to form a key part of the retreat team in helping to organize the retreats, as well as attend and host our guests.

The responsibilities of the position will be:

• Hosting retreats; being all hands on deck from picking up rental cars, groceries, treats for our guests, to hosting in-house breakfasts, keeping the accommodation shared spaces clean, bartending in the evening, and having amazing conversations with our wonderful guests!
• Help to plan retreats and logistics (you’re the kind of person who loves hunting for the perfect villa and finding hidden gems for group meals out)
• Managing attendee communication, from answering any questions about our retreats and helping customers pay and register

As a general requirement for all our team members, you must:

• Have great attention to detail: you can spot a typo or mistake anywhere
• Have great written communication: aside from when we are together at retreats, most of our communication is written. We work across different time zones, so clarity in written communication is key for optimizing our time together! 
• Be proactive and take initiative: see a problem, fix a problem. We’d much rather you ask for our forgiveness later rather than wait for our permission now.
• Be a good problem solver. You keep your cool when a guest’s bag goes missing, or when a sudden storm comes in and ruins the climbing day plans, and proactively suggest solutions.
• Be close to a transport hub for easy air/train travel. This position will require travel every 1-2 months, so to avoid burnout it’s essential that you’re based somewhere (or roaming somewhere) close enough to a good travel hub. Due to the locations of our events, it will be easiest if you are based in Europe.

Business Development at Wintermute

We are looking for a Business Development & Partnerships Director of Asia who will continue our ambitious expansion in the region. We are looking for someone who knows the Asian financial services markets both from a traditional finance and digital assets perspective. You will be responsible for building new as well as growing Wintermute’s existing businesses in Asia.

You will own opportunities in the region from end to end and develop your own strategic growth plan, while also getting advice and guidance from the team. We have the best liquidity products in the market, we work with many of the most prominent blockchain projects, we have many strategic growth opportunities in the pipeline, and a long line of counterparties wanting to develop relationships with us. We have no legacy processes, no corporate bureaucracy, no multiple levels of approvals, yet the highest standards of professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Expand institutional OTC business in Asia by developing and executing a growth strategy focused on banks, asset managers, funds, and family offices in the region.
• Work closely with other teams to bring new products (e.g. new derivatives products) to the market, this includes collecting customer feedback, testing products, launch plans, etc
• Grow the crypto project Liquidity provision business - deepen and build relationships with high profile projects in the region, as well as local VCs and other important ecosystem players
• Growth partner relationships with important partners such as exchanges, custodians, lenders and other infrastructure providers
• Work with various cross-functional teams to drive brand awareness in the key markets in Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, S. Korea, Japan, South-East Asia, Australia)
• Execute a structured business development process and work with the teams to further improve operational efficiency (e.g. CRM, effectiveness of campaigns, etc)
• Keep track of key launches and news in the crypto eco-system and proactively identify cooperation and business development opportunities.

Hard Skills Requirements:

• Experience in both traditional financial and digital assets services from high performing teams and institutions.
• eCommerce experience would also be advantageous.
• Experience with spot and derivatives OTC products, especially options is required.
• Experience in business development, partnerships or any client-facing role within financial services.
• Experience delivering business results - be ready to talk about numbers/quota achievement, etc
• Experience in several important Asian markets; deep understanding of both Asian and Western mindsets and ways of doing business
• Professional level Cantonese or Mandarin (or other major Asia language)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; the role is more around providing education to counterparties about our services rather than a standard sales pitch. Therefore it’s important to come across convincing, concise, precise and a good listener whilst also being clear on the next steps as well as ensuring timely follow ups.
• Trading knowledge or crypto knowledge - is a strong advantage; willingness, aptitude and curiosity to understand the fundamentals of blockchain technologies, algorithmic trading and Liquidity provision is crucial
• BSc/MSc in Business/Economics/Finance or any related degree
• FICC sales experience (voice or electronic) and working with institutional clients is a nice to have.
