An overview of this role

The Provision Team at GitLab owns the process of license delivery, ensuring that customer purchases are made available to them. We work within the Customers.GitLab.com application to integrate data from our sales systems to produce licenses and grants that impact GitLab.com, GitLab Dedicated instances, and self managed instances of GitLab.

As a Fullstack engineer on the Provision team you will help build the web interface and services that connect instances, groups, and specific users to customer subscriptions. You will support the team’s ongoing operational concerns triaging customer impacting bugs,and monitoring key integrations for errors in support of GitLab’s compliance requirements. You will help define long term solutions and architecture to allow GitLab to scale its licensing infrastructure to support more sales and a wider product catalog.

The Role

We’re looking for a sharp, self-motivated, problem-solving Senior React/React Native Engineer to join our engineering team.

As a Senior React/React Native Engineer, you’ll work alongside other engineers, designers, and product managers to tackle everything from huge company initiatives to modest but important bug fixes, from start to finish. You’ll also collaborate with your product team on discovery, helping to assess the direction and feasibility of product changes.

Most importantly, you’ll actively contribute to the evolution of the culture and processes of a growing engineering team, especially our client engineering discipline (this is what we call the devs who work on the front end). Our engineering team is remote-first, spanning every time zone in the United States. We welcome people from all backgrounds and really don’t care whether or not you have a CS degree or even a high school diploma. All that matters is that you’re not an a**hole and you’re good at what you do.

Our Product and Engineering departments also do things a little differently than what you might be used to.

We use a customized version of Basecamp’s Shape Up method (fused with empowered product teams a la Marty Cagan’s Inspired) to organize and execute our work. That means you’ll work in a close-knit team consisting of a product manager, a product designer, and other engineers on an area of the product in multi-week cycles.

During cycles you’ll spend most of your time implementing product improvements, but you’ll also work with your team shaping (planning and vetting) product improvements for the next cycle. After each cycle your team will stop, reset, and choose to tackle another cycle or take a 1-2 week cool-down (a period of undirected work where you’ll pursue educational opportunities, work on pet projects, or smash some bugs that have been nagging at you). Rinse and repeat until code nirvana.

Sounds nice, right? No sprinting, no scrumming, no death by 1,000 meetings. We protect our engineers’ time, treat them like adults, and trust them to get their work done. We’re also big on not overworking people. Put in your eight hours of focused, quality work and then TURN. SLACK. OFF. No nights and weekends.

Some things to know about our workflow

• Every Monday, we have a one-on-one Zoom meeting to discuss our goals, whether you are meeting your goals, what went well, what did not go well, and so on.
• You would work directly with the CEO, Simon, who trusts you with your responsibility areas and empowers you to come up with and for you to find the solutions. In other words: this role has a lot of freedom for you to work in the way that you think is best for the company. Simon and the team do not micromanage and have no interest in doing so.
• You’re also responsible for maintaining the Github repository of the project you’re working on, committing/pushing/documenting your changes, commenting on your code, and writing SOPs or technical documentation (if necessary). It doesn’t have to be pages long and can be very short and concise. But, as a developer, it makes life so much easier if you can return to your code in the future without having to think too hard about what you did. This is also about being considerate of your teammates' time.
• There must be some overlap in our working hours so you can respond to urgent requests (if any) or chat with your manager or any of our departments on demand if they have an IT question. This means that some extra tasks may arise during the week.
• You might have a day where one of our team members needs something urgent and needs it done the same or the next day, which can be valuable to the company, or a major issue needs to be fixed ASAP, in which case you might have to drop what you're working on and work on that. • Every Monday, we have a one-on-one Zoom meeting to discuss our goals, whether you are meeting your goals, what went well, what did not go well, and so on.

Machine learning is at the heart of our work and technical strategy. Introduction:

We are seeking a Front End Web Developer to join a small, dynamic team responsible for coding, maintaining, and optimizing AppLovin marketing web properties. You will directly contribute to many high-visibility projects and marketing campaigns, working with a high degree of autonomy. You will have opportunities to learn exciting new tools and technologies, and to collaborate with talented designers and content creators.

You enjoy finding novel solutions to challenging web development problems. You strive to stay up to date on the latest techniques and tools. Web standards, accessibility, and best practices are important to you. You are open to experimenting with new ideas, and you love to share what you’ve learned with your teammates.

Responsibilities:

• Support development and maintenance of company websites, including but not limited to applovin.com and wurl.com
• Manage landing page development and optimization, including A/B testing setup and analytics integration
• Recommend, install, and customize WordPress plug-ins to improve website capabilities and usability
• Integrate sites with CRM platforms like HubSpot and Salesforce
• Build and maintain tools for site content creators and editors
• Partner with internal teams for a wide range of web projects and enhancements, supporting stakeholders from Recruiting, HR, Legal, Sales, and more
• Team with Demand Generation and Product Marketing leads to maintain SEO/SEM best practices on our primary corporate marketing sites

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in front end web development
• Solid understanding of WordPress site development (working with WP block tools, installing and customizing themes and plug-ins, ensuring secure environments)
• Proficient at coding and extending modern, responsive HTML/CSS layouts
• Comfortable maintaining code and templates written in PHP and Javascript
• Experienced with content management systems and marketing/CRM platforms (for example: HubSpot, Zendesk, Splash)
• Familiar with leading design tools (for example: Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop) and creating web optimized assets

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with any/all of the following WordPress tools used in our core workflows: Advanced Custom Fields, Polylang/WPML, Yoast SEO, WP Migrate
• Working knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4 preferred), Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager
• Comfortable working with third-party APIs to build dynamic web content
• Familiar with leading AI tools like ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot, and able to incorporate them into dev workflow
• Graphic design, branding, video, illustration, or other creative background experience is a plus

Total compensation at AppLovin is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer at DECA, you will work with the core engineering team to develop free-to-play massively multiplayer role-playing games on PC and console, including Champions Online, Star Trek Online, and Neverwinter. You will be working with a team of very talented software engineers to architect, build, and maintain exceptional gameplay systems and powerful tools. You will help define and implement new features while supporting existing tools and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Work with artists and designers to develop new features, debug content setup, and more
• Work with other engineers, including cross-team, in a collaborative fashion.
• Work with game team QA on developing test plans for new releases.
• Work on game client and game server, focusing on gameplay/design elements.
• Work on game gameplay backend services, including group projects, match-making, and more.
• Work on low-level shared utility code.
• Monitor live game health, including game client/server crashes, errors, and performance.
• Own OS support for PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows.
• Own gameplay systems, including AI, UI, and other elements.

Requirements

• Highly proficient in C programming and debugging.
• Experience with Windows game development.
• Experience with Console development for PlayStation and Xbox.
• Experience profiling code for performance, including on console.
• Experience with multi-threaded code, including debugging.
• Experience with OS-level constructs, including files, locks, threads, etc
• Experience with memory management, including debugging.
• Experience using 3D Math to implement virtual worlds.
• Experience with Visual Studio 2017 onwards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
