We’re seeking a full-time, remote Rails backend developer in Europe or on the US east coast.

About the Work

• You’ll be the sole Ruby on Rails developer.
• You’ll mostly work on the business logic of our web platform, and only occasionally work on the views (our frontend developer usually handles that part in a separate Next.js app).
• You’ll join a small product team consisting of 1 frontend developer, 1 part-time TypeScript backend developer, 3 designers, and 1 product manager.
• You’ll report directly to the founders (one of whom is technical) and periodically collaborate with people outside the product team.
• You’ll play an active role in the shaping and scoping of new features.

• Get to production — We want to get things into their real environment as early as possible and then rapidly iterate from there. This means constantly shipping incremental pieces, whether it be directly to customers, behind feature flags, on an obscure URL, as a script, or some other form.
• Constantly fight the urge to do more — Everyone, including yourself, will naturally slide towards wanting to make the thing a little bigger and a little better. You must be vigilant in pushing back to avoid scope creep.
• Testing means clicking — Automated tests are great, but actually using the real thing, in a browser, with production data is indispensable. A feature is not tested if you haven’t tried it the way the end-user will.

About You

We're looking for a full-time Engineering Manager to join our core Product & Engineering Team who has significant experience building, managing, and monitoring backend services at scale. At Scribd, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. The infrastructure team enables Chainlink development and maintains services that support the health of the most widely-adopted oracle network in the world. • 5+ years of relevant professional experience. You have a software engineering background or an operations background and have worked as an SRE (or in a very close position) before.
• Experience with system architecture. You can create a design document for a cross-region load-balancing app with five microservices, a PostgreSQL cluster, a caching layer, and a Kafka queue—and then implement it on AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines. You can troubleshoot an existing pipeline or build your own, and you’ve probably worked on both software delivery and cloud-based services deployment.
• Experience with distributed systems and container orchestration. You have built or maintained complex Kubernetes clusters before.
• Ability to read and write code. You can understand precisely why a recent code change led to degraded performance; you can write scripts and tools to automate routine tasks and eliminate toil.
• Strong communication skills. You can give and receive constructive feedback, and you do not shy away from planning meetings and code reviews.

• Professional experience with Golang, TypeScript, or both.

We’re seeking an Incident Responder (Blockchain Network & Systems Administrator) in the APAC timezone with knowledge of Blockchains, Smart Contracts, Web2 concepts, networks/network protocols, automation methods, and contingency operations, to perform in-depth troubleshooting of all issues that arise.

In this role you will be ensuring that Chainlink Labs and their products/services remain operational at all times, through both proactive and reactive response to Incidents as well as through leading the Postmortem Process and completion of corrective and preventative actions identified within it.

The primary function in this role is to triage and bring all Incidents to resolution, whether independently or by acting as an Incident Commander, when alerted by our monitoring or other sources. When not actively triaging incidents, you will be working towards the improvement of the Incident Response Process by contributing to the below:

• Identifying needed policy and procedure changes
• Developing contingency plans.
• Improving the gathering and presentation of Incident related data
• Working with other teams to eliminate tech debt which might result in Incidents
• Creating automations for common Incident Response tasks

In addition to the above, as an Incident Responder for the Incident Response Team you will:

• Respond to all alerts routed to the Incident Response Team, generated from within our monitoring stack, within 1 minute.
• Evangelize and enact best practices, to guide high-quality Incident Response Process utilization within Chainlink Labs.
• Create and execute contingency planning exercises, to ensure continued operational readiness of the Incident Response Team, and those we support.
• Identify and make useful metrics based off of Incident occurrence.

Requirements

• Ability to function as a leader (Incident Commander), to both SMEs and leadership, during Major Incidents.

We are looking for a Blockchain Integrations Engineering Manager who can keep business development in mind while managing our relationships with various blockchains. Our integrations team is tasked with growing Chainlink, and this role has tremendous growth potential as we rapidly expand our coverage of any/all blockchains

You are the technical leader on all integration discussions, responsible for supporting and managing integration partners as a member of an inclusive, and multi-functional team. For our partners, you act as a trusted sparring partner helping them from building their business case, managing the integration, to finalizing the rollout of their integration into the Chainlink platform.

Your Impact

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, setting clear goals, managing project timelines, and maintaining team cohesion and morale.
