What You'll Do

• • Lead the team in day-to-day accounting and month-end close activities in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Monthly review of financials, including budget versus actual and period over period variance analysis
  • Work cross-functionally with the other departments on new projects and initiatives to understand the financial impact and build out supporting accounting processes
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and prepare position papers to support conclusions on complex accounting matters.

What We'll Expect From You

• • 8+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ in management roles with a public or large private company or equivalent accounting firm experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) with a focus in Accounting/Finance.
  • CPA certification.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting experience is critical.
  • Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition, including reviewing and analyzing contracts.
  • Experience auditing or operating in a strong control environment (e.g., SOX 404).
  • Experience implementing an ERP is a plus.
  • Private Equity, SaaS Industry, Multinational, M&A, and/or Tax experience a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills.

At Monzo Europe, we are looking for a Control Testing and Assurance Manager, within the First Line of Defence (1LOD), to ensure a comprehensive and functioning control environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide strategic and tactical effective challenge for all risks present within the Business Unit (BU). Concur with key risk decisions and escalate unacceptable or key emerging risks to BU CRO and/or Business Unit Risk Committee.

2. Guide risk-taking behavior. Provide counsel and advice to BU and senior BU leaders.

3. Monitor risk exposures, concentrations and limits. Ensure risk levels stay within risk appetite.

4. Opine on new or revised risk program requirements to confirm they are consistent with the Bank's risk appetite, regulator expectations and industry standard.

5. Identify areas of opportunity to improve risk visibility within BU; develop and implement plan to transform opportunity into new processes and activities.

6. Assist in the development and opine on Risk Appetite Framework metrics and Key Risk Indicators within the BU as well as those defined by the BU for implementation across Truist (where applicable).

7. Advocate the Bank's risk culture, compliance with enterprise risk initiatives and promote sound risk management practices.

8. Provide connectivity between the output of risk programs as appropriate. Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve highly complex or challenging issues.

9. Advise on the effectiveness of BU risk and control environment.

10. Provide direction and guidance in the development of controls and governance mechanisms within the BU.

11. Execute, facilitate and monitor risk governance mechanisms, including but not limited to, Compliance Risk and Control Self-Assessment (C-RCSA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), key risk indicators, policies, risk committees and other elements of the Enterprise Risk Framework.

12. Monitor issues (all types) assigned to BU, as well as those that have downstream or upstream impact to the BU and ensure appropriate remediation.

13. In conjunction with Compliance Risk Management and Legal, monitor BU adherence to applicable policies, laws and regulations.

14. Communicate to BU senior leadership, regulators and Executive Committees key activities, trends, and events pertaining to risk, regulatory and audit reviews. Continue to promote various risk initiatives and their supporting metrics.

Summary:

Responsible for the management of health plan financial reporting, including all elements of internal and external financial reporting, accounting, cash management and investments. Responsible for all accounting activities associated with the "core business", including but not limited to all aspects of premium and claims. Formal Education Required:

a. Bachelor's Degree in accounting or other related field.

a. Five (5) years of experience to include: management of Accounting department, financial reporting, auditing, cash management, fiduciary activities, and supervision of staff.

Essential Functions

1. Financials

• Plans, prepares, implements and monitors area's operational and capital budgets to ensure sound fiscal management consistent with the goals of Summa Health System.
• Manages productivity within department; minimum target is 100%; meets targets set in assigned area.

2. Managing & Leading People

• Manages performance and ensures 100% of all required performance appraisals are completed.
• Ensures all staff members complete Mandatory Organizational Education (MOE) training annually.

• Ensures that his/her department adopts a Total Quality Improvement approach to its work that includes employee empowerment, managing with data, a philosophy of continual improvement, a customer driven attitude and a work methodology that maximizes error prevention. Oversees financial reporting, for six companies with annual revenue (premium equivalents) of approximately a half a billion dollars, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to the CFO, Controller, Senior Management, Summa Health System leadership team, the Board of Directors, federal/state/local regulatory agencies, and other external users.

10. Ensures that financial reporting is in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).

16. Oversees and reviews material judgements and estimates including but not limited to: 1) calculation of and recording of claims liability / IBNR estimates using the claims lag model, 2) accrued risk adjusted revenues, 3) premium deficiency reserves, and 4) tax positions.
