As a senior software engineer, you will join our rewards data team to assist in building and maintaining user-facing and internal applications to support rewards reporting and financial performance monitoring. At Chorus One we take the upstream node software from projects like Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos, or Avalanche; compile it; run it on one of our servers; and then make sure it is reliable and secure, monitor it, and keep it up to date. The networks rewards us for that in their native token. Keeping track of those rewards over time is a hard problem, because ironically, blockchains typically don’t expose convenient APIs to extract this data in a useful format. This is why we build our own automation, and integrate with third-party data vendors. Your work will power internal reports and dashboards, as well as external customer reporting, and rewards data APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new features. Discuss with internal stakeholders to clarify how our next feature should look, discuss with fellow engineers how it should be implemented, and then drive implementation to completion.
• Support and collaborate. Review and discuss engineering designs, review code, help fellow engineers, and work with other teams such as platforms engineering, customer success, business development, and our networks team, to get them the insights they need.
• Innovation and continuous improvement. Seek to simplify, optimize, and secure our staking services and systems.

The Opportunity

As a Financial Operations Analyst at Nascent, your accounting experience and analytical mindset will be pivotal in supporting a dynamic, tech-forward, AI-first financial environment. In this critical contributor role, your core focus will be doing the heavy lifting on financial analysis for our internal custom accounting system to ensure accuracy and compliance. You’ll work closely with our Controller to maintain precise bookkeeping, optimize month-end close processes, and other day-to-day financial tasks that contribute to Nascent’s overall financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Statement Preparation Support

• Gather and analyze financial data to aid in the accurate preparation of financial statements.

Financial Data Reviews and Reconciliations

• Conduct detailed reviews and reconciliations of financial records to ensure accuracy and consistency.

• Support the coordination of sales tax filings and state compliance efforts, meeting deadlines and maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.
• Contribute to timely and precise financial reporting while reducing compliance risks and enhancing audit readiness.

Manage vendor payment processing

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, record transactions in financial systems, and maintain detailed records to support audit trails and financial reporting.

Ongoing Accounting and Bookkeeping Management

• Perform day-to-day accounting tasks with precision, ensuring meticulous maintenance of bookkeeping records.
• Uphold compliance with established financial policies and contribute to overall operational efficiency.
