• Working knowledge of common financial models including modern portfolio theory, generalized hyperbolic distributions and their subclasses, bonding curves, etc.

The Program Administrator, Policy & Advocacy will provide high-level administrative support for Komen’s Center for Public Policy’s (CPP) programs, initiatives, and events; assist in the coordination of efforts across CPP areas; support the team in building relationships with stakeholders; and assist with gathering content to report activities and communicate about CPP’s work as needed.

What You Will Bring to the Table

• Provide administrative support for Komen’s Center for Public Policy (CPP) programs and staff.
• Coordinates activities across program areas of the Public Policy and Advocacy team.
• Coordinates logistics and materials for CPP events and projects, including the Komen Advocacy Summit, state lobby days, trainings, webinars, etc.
• Assists with Center for Public Policy communications.
• Assists with federal and state lobbying reporting.
• Manages contracts and invoice processing for Public Policy & Advocacy department, including reviewing for accuracy; coding appropriate cost center, project code, and lobbying expense; and securing approval for payment.
• Supports Public Policy & Advocacy department with travel, scheduling, expense reports, meeting logistics, etc.
• Assists with preparation of summaries on CPP events and accomplishments.
• Assists in the coordination and follow-up of consultants’ activities. Ensures monthly/weekly reports are received and are accurate.
• Assist in development and fundraising activities as directed, in order to grow the public policy and advocacy team’s capacity and reach.
• Monitors designated legislative and health policy and news websites on the state and federal issues, conducts basic online research and gathers data related to Komen’s advocacy priorities or other matters.

The Role 

We are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails developer to join our technical team. We're expecting you to give a full-time effort (around 35-40 hours/week) working on MemberSpace.

Requirements 

• We are a mostly asynchronous company, so you must be fluent in English and need to be able to write and communicate very clearly. 
• You are able to mostly overlap with a 10 am to 6 pm ET (Mon to Fri) schedule. 
• A strong background in Ruby on Rails. 
• Experience working in Javascript, especially React. 
• Experience developing applications from the ground up. 
• Experience with and a preference for full end-to-end integration and unit testing. 
• You want to work on major aspects of product functionality from back-end systems all of the way through to the user interface (i.e. full-stack).

About the Opportunity

The Project Controls Manager will assist in the develop and institute practical cost control tools and best practices that provide accurate and timely financial data to management, project success executes, sales, and the finance and accounts department. Responsible for training, developing and mentoring project cost analysts in the use of tools and practices, so that they can aggressively protect or improve Powin's project margins through intelligent decisions based on accurate cost data.

Job Details:

• Established accounting timetables routinely and timely produce monthly Project Cost Reports in NetSuite, and work together

with Project Success Executives to include:

• Forecast costs to complete based on actual cost to date as provided by accounts dept
• Maintain accurate committed cost to date
• Capture change orders and adjust Planned Budget Cost
• Compare actual cost to planned and analyze effect on project margins,
• Provide explanations for variances to budget and provide documentation to substantiate the explanation o 
• Make recommendations accordingly to recover or improve project earnings

• Ensure the finance and accounts department is provided with correctly coded, accurate cost schedules that can be readily incorporated into financial statements and presentations
• Consults with department and ision heads in the formation of project controls policies
• Develop & maintain project cost estimate tools to ensure that it simply and adequately identifies the scope of work and adequately captures project cost build-up
• When requested provide labor and material cost data and estimates to the sales team derived from actual project cost data current at the time sales are bidding project sales
• Act as a resource to sales to support the review of project cost data and scope identification and ensure that other construction specialists are consulted as required
• Support project success executives in the estimating of project change orders
• Supports development of Project Controls standards and procedures. Supervises and supports the compilation of historical data.
• Manage all project reporting, incorporating own cost data together with cost data obtained from Finance and other appropriate departments, and forecast all costs to complete.
• Take ownership of the process of recovery of internal unplanned project costs resulting from NCR's, TQI's, and ECO's. 
• Develop and institute Standard Operating Practices for the identification, estimating, recording, tracking, categorization, quantifying, and invoicing of cost claims. Work with project and field staff to produce supporting documentation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or better. Preferably in Cost Engineering, Construction Management or Finance (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 10 years project controls experience
• Minimum 5 years in management, leadership role with “Hands On” experience
• Experience with NetSuite or other Large ERP is preferred
• Excellent written, communications, organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills required
