The Role:

We are currently in search of a highly skilled and experienced Customer-Facing DevOps Engineer to become an integral part of our dynamic team. Deliverables

Taking on this role makes you a key architect of the Atlas.

You’ll work closely with the founder and infrastructure engineers to define a new company function with the goal to maintain high-standards in uptime and reliability. You’ll gain extensive experience in monitoring and maintaining infrastructure that covers most major L1 and L2 chains, while gaining valuable experience in overall infrastructure management by working closely with experienced team members.

You’ll work across our full stack of infrastructure, from creating and maintaining Chainlink nodes, blockchain full nodes, validators, monitoring stack and our Kubernetes cluster setup. As well as this, you will be the first to respond to any incidents that are raised through our monitoring stack, fixing and escalating where needed.

LinkPool’s infrastructure is fully containerised and fully collocated with wholly owned hardware that we solely manage. This is a unique opportunity to use cutting edge tooling on infrastructure wholly owned without the burden of dealing with cloud pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the first to respond to incidents on-call during your working hours (9am-5pm)
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation including runbooks, common issues, maintenance and other reliability activities.
• Ensure backup systems are functioning as expected and updated regularly.
• Manage monitoring services to measure service availability, resource utilisation, capacity management, event logs, and application performance.
• Work effectively with vendors to troubleshoot issues, upgrade environments, and deploy new solutions.
• Participate in after-hours systems support activities and on-call rotation during working hours.
• Complete incident and service request tasks in adherence to incident management procedures.
• Meet or exceed service level agreement (SLA) expectations.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues,
• Conduct root cause analysis and preventive action planning.

Requirements

• A suitable time zone. We are looking for people in time zones around GMT+8, GMT and GMT-8 to give 24/7 9-5 coverage.
• A strong passion for Web3 and Ethereum based networks
• Some experience working with Blockchain Full Nodes, in particular Ethereum based clients.
• Familiar: Docker, Linux CLI
• Desire and ability to rapidly learn new technologies
• Highly motivated with a self-governing work ethic
• Comfortable closely collaborating with engineers in and out of your team

Ultimately, we are looking for people who have a strong passion for the Web3 space that are highly motivated to learn. Strong technical experience is not a requirement, but familiarity is preferred.

The Team:

We are a lean geographically distributed team of around 20 currently. We have a high pedigree or Digital Asset, DeFi & broader Web3 expertise, across both non-technical and technical teams. Ethena currently has 2 Engineering verticals, Onchain Engineering & Quantitative Engineering. Now we are adding this new project of building our own L2 for USDe and ENA to sit upon, we need to add new engineering expertise to take a leading position in this new vertical.

Who We are Looking For:

• A Principal Engineer with experience in building at the blockchain protocol level

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture & design of our L2 chain, including open source frameworks (OP stack, Arbitrum Nitro, ZK, L1 approach), sequencer performance tuning, strategic service provider selection, etc
• Meaningfully differentiating the chain from existing L2s such as through native yield, custom gas tokens, performance optimizations
• Lead key development milestones include internal and external devnets, through to public launch.
• Ensure high availability, reliability and performance of the chain post launch
• Act as a public technical figure advocating for the chain and supporting developers and protocols building atop it

Requirements

• Direct experience building and launching an L1 or L2 blockchain and contributing code to sequencers for EVM compatible chains
• Experience building products in the Ethereum ecosystem
• Expertise with either Go or Rust and Solidity
• Exceptional at developing high-performance software and networked systems
• Aptitude to drive an outcome, unblocking yourself and those around
• Autonomous work ethic and and strong mindset for teamwork
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
