About the Role

This is a full-time remote position, with team members in North America and Europe.

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help us scale out our operations by planning and implementing projects to manage fleets of blockchain servers. This role presents unique opportunities to be involved in building out tooling where none exists in the industry. You will build production systems that need to handle newer (sometimes alpha quality) blockchain software. You’ll need to consider all aspects of security, monitoring, maintainability, and stability.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Identify common areas where automation can significantly increase our ability to manage all our infrastructure.
• Identify areas of systemic risk, and then evaluate, propose, and implement solutions
• Manage and monitor cloud and physical servers across multiple global hosting services and data centers
• Automation of blockchain software build, install, and management processes
• Linux server administration, hardening, intrusion detection, and vulnerability scanning
• Debugging complex distributed blockchains to help run them smoothly
• Identify tasks and processes that get stuck or move slowly and support the team in pushing them through.
• Demonstrate technical expertise in multiple domains and act as a mentor to others on the team.

Qualifications

• In-depth experience using Ansible (or similar tools) to environments with over hundreds of servers. Experience designing complex static and dynamic inventories, variable structures, and playbooks.
• Writing custom Ansible roles from scratch with advanced features of Ansible such as Jinja2 templating, complex logic flows, dynamic role/task includes, and handlers. Strong focus on ensuring idempotency & reusability and following best practices where they make sense.
• In-depth experience supporting Linux servers in large environments supporting hundreds of servers, preferably in highly secure and highly available 24/7 environments.
• Deep troubleshooting expertise to quickly identify server, network, and application issues, and methodical approach to implementing, testing, and measuring changes to remediate issues. Experience troubleshooting complex application flows which span multiple clusters of systems. Knowledge of common OS and application level settings to optimize system performance.
• Experience with common system administration scripting languages such as bash and Python.
• In-depth experience creating well organized modules with Terraform to ensure cloud provisioning automation can be easily reused. Experience creating image build pipelines with Packer.
• Deep understanding of networking and security best practices
• Experience working in environments with high security requirements.

Nice to have, but not required

• Ansible role testing with Molecule (or similar tools) and Ansible module development experience
• Knowledge of, or experience with, Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake decentralized consensus mechanisms used in blockchains
• Experience running applications on Kubernetes
• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines from scratch to automate infrastructure provisioning and deploy applications (GitHub Actions or similar tools)
• Experience with Hashicorp Vault or other secure storage tools.

Base Salary: The US base salary range for this position is USD $120,000 - $160,000. The Canadian base salary range for this position is CAD $120,000 - $160,000. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits.For candidates in other countries, the pay range will be disclosed upon your first interview with Figment (being a globally remote company, the list of salary ranges would simply be too long to note here!). The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across all of the US and Canada. About the Role

We are seeking a versatile DevOps Engineer to help configure, automate, and manage our mixed cloud and physical server infrastructure and networking.

This is a full-time remote position, with team members in Toronto, Waterloo, Chicago, and New York City.

What’s unique about this role is that we’re attempting to deploy production systems with newer (sometimes alpha quality) blockchain software. And given we’re in the crypto/blockchain domain, things like security, server hardening, intrusion detection, monitoring etc. are highly important.

You will report to the DevOps Team Lead and work with a group of devops generalists. It’s critical that you are comfortable working in an unstructured environment, dealing with uncertainty, minimal direction, and working across a range of projects.

• Manage and monitor cloud and physical servers across multiple global hosting services and data centers
• Deployment automation with Kubernetes
• Configuration Management with Ansible. Prev experience with other tools like Packer, Terraform, etc. helpful.

Prefer scripting custom Bash over fighting YAML in legacy CI systems. Experience with cgroups, kernel namespaces, virtual memory, /proc, and tracing syscalls. Perform scheduled daily reviews of our ATM hardware and software management platform and identify ATM maintenance needs. Review internal and external requests and notifications to support ATM performance and end user service needs. Effectively triage hardware and software issues and open service calls as needed. Manage service calls assigned to providers to completion in accordance to the master service agreement and company KPIs. Review and assess ATM camera angles on a weekly basis to ensure customer images are captured in accordance with government regulatory compliance requirements.  Review ATM performance for chronic behavior and perform root cause analysis to restore ATMs to optimal uptime. A minimum of a working knowledge level of Kaba Mas locks is preferred.  Intermediate level or higher knowledge and understanding of using Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high priority tasks and shift priorities in a fast paced environment. Strong, professional communications skills both orally and written. A basic understanding of cryptocurrency.

About the role

We’re hiring an Associate Assistant — a critical support role designed to make our Associates more effective. Associates are responsible for providing 1:1 crypto consulting to our Members, and your job is to ensure they can operate at peak performance by taking ownership of their admin and research tasks.

This is not a customer-facing role. You won’t be on video calls with clients, but you will work behind the scenes to keep workflows smooth, client requests delivered quickly, and research organized. Your work will directly impact client satisfaction, retention, and the ability of Associates to deliver a world-class experience.

You’ll be embedded with the Associate team and expected to be highly responsive, detail-oriented, and proactive. When an Associate needs something — whether that’s setting up folders in Google Drive, pulling quick crypto research, or sending information to a client in Slack or our CRM — you’ll handle it with speed and precision.

This role requires strong written English (zero tolerance for grammar mistakes), comfort with digital tools, and a “very online” mentality. You don’t need to be a DeFi expert, but you should be familiar with the crypto space and able to learn fast.

Key responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced product manager with strong technical depth to join our Protocol Product team. This role will primarily be focused on owning the roadmap for scaling the OP Stack, working at the intersection of research, engineering, and ecosystem needs. You will partner closely with engineering, data, and ecosystem collaborators to drive meaningful improvements in throughput, performance, and developer experience.

The OP Stack has delivered order-of-magnitude throughput improvements over L1 to date, but we’re just getting started. To bring the world onchain, we need to scale 10x-100x from here.

What are the role responsibilities?

• Drive the scaling roadmap: Own and deliver the vertical scaling roadmap (6-18 months+), working with OP Labs and Optimism Collective engineering teams and L1 core developers. This will require deeply understanding cutting edge research from Ethereum and other ecosystems, and bringing actionable plans to drive scaling forward.

• Champion the customer(s): Engage with chain operators and RaaS team, RPC providers, explorers and indexers, and proof teams to understand their performance challenges and tradeoffs and represent their needs in the scaling roadmap.

• Tell the scaling story: Work with the growth and marketing teams to to communicate OP Stack scalability story through dashboards, blog posts, talks, and ecosystem updates.

• Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with engineering, data, growth, DevRel and other product teams to identify opportunities and quickly ship impactful scaling initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of product and engineering experience: You have at least 5 years of technical product management experience (e.g. onchain protocol, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, etc.) or at least 3 years of product experience with 2 years of engineering experience. Background with blockchains or distributed systems preferred.

• Deep technical expertise: You have the ability to e deep into the technical designs, evaluate trade-offs, and align engineering on solutions that address complex problems. Experience as a software engineer is strongly preferred, but a demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical teams and understand complex systems is essential

• Excellent communication skills: You can clearly communicate complex concepts to erse audiences, conveying critical points and takeaways succinctly.
