This role is not about being the “best React developer in the room.”
It’s about setting direction, simplifying complexity, and enabling many teams to move faster and safer. You will work closely with product, backend, platform, and design partners to shape architecture, standards, and long-term technical strategy across Alpaca’s frontend surface area.
We’re looking for someone who brings deep frontend expertise, enjoys mentoring others, and thrives in a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate in a highly cross-functional environment, building elegant and seamless user experiences with a strong focus on polish, performance, responsiveness, and accessibility.
What You’ll Do
Technical Strategy & Architecture

Scope & Organizational Impact
Lead cross-team, multi-quarter initiatives spanning multiple product areas.
Define rollout strategies that enable change without blocking feature delivery (e.g. phased migrations, feature flags, compatibility layers).
Partner with backend and platform teams to solve end-to-end system problems, not just frontend symptoms.
Technical Leadership & Influence
Influence engineers and leaders across the broader engineering organization.
Write RFCs, decision records, and architectural proposals that align teams and drive adoption.
Mentor Senior Engineers and help raise the overall frontend engineering bar.
Navigate conflicting opinions and help teams disagree and commit.
Navigate Ambiguity & Risk
Take loosely defined business problems and turn them into clear, actionable technical initiatives.
Manage risk in large migrations, architectural shifts, and platform-level changes.
Balance short-term delivery with long-term sustainability, even when ROI is not immediately visible.
Who You Are (Must-Haves)
Extensive experience building and scaling modern frontend applications (React + TypeScript or similar).
Proven track record operating at Staff or equivalent level, with impact across multiple teams or domains.
Strong understanding of frontend architecture at scale, including:

Passion for creating intuitive, high-performance user interfaces.
Experience working with REST APIs and WebSocket best practices.
Track record of setting or influencing frontend best practices.
Strong attention to detail and appreciation for design quality and aesthetics.
What Sets You Apart
You think in terms of systems, leverage, and long-term outcomes, not just features.
You’re comfortable influencing without authority.
You can explain complex technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-engineers.
You optimize for organizational effectiveness, not personal ownership.
Nice-to-Haves
Financial services experince, trading, banking or Algorithmic trading experience (professional or personal).
Experience with major cloud platforms (we primarily use GCP).

- Partner with paid acquisition team to support landing page experimentation, optimization, and knowledge sharing, ensuring learnings are applied consistently across channels.
- Collaborate with Product Growth, Product Marketing, Design, Content, SEO, and Engineering partners to align acquisition initiatives with messaging, user intent, and execution.

We work alongside frontier robotics labs and foundation model research groups to collect large-scale, quality, erse, multimodal datasets of humans performing everyday tasks across household and industrial environments.
We are lean, technical, and operate at extreme speed, taking on unglamorous and conventionally impossible problems that directly unlock step-function gains in model capability.
The deployment of capable humanoids at scale will permanently redefine human labor. Undesirable physical work will disappear, and human effort will shift toward a new era of abundant creativity. This shift is inevitable, and we are building the infrastructure to accelerate it.
We are assembling the best team to solve the hardest problems in embodied intelligence. You will own meaningful systems from day one and see your work directly impact VLA model capabilities. This is a once-in-a-generation inflection point. If you want to leave your dent on humanity and reshape physical labor markets forever, join us!
About the Role
This role is ideal for an early-career engineer or exceptional dropout who wants real ownership and is interested in possibly joining Human Archive as a founding engineer.
As a Machine Learning Intern, you’ll build the data and ML infrastructure that powers the next generation of safe, intelligent, dexterous, and generalizable robots. You’ll work on in-house Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model benchmarking, annotation software, analytics and data platform products, and multimodal alignment tooling. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of applied machine learning, data infrastructure, and robotics, where your work directly shapes how data is collected, validated, annotated, and converted into high-quality learning signal.
Your mandate is to close the loop between research and data collection by building systems that let us rapidly evaluate new environments, tasks, and sensor modalities through fine-tuning and benchmarking our own VLA models, as well as by building annotation pipelines designed for direct model ingestion. You’ll be expected to ship production-grade systems, make architectural decisions, and own projects end to end.
What We’re Looking For
* Passionate iniduals who are deeply mission-driven and have demonstrated ownership in previous work
* Engineers who want their work to directly impact the next frontier of robotic intelligence* Exceptional dropouts or cracked new grads who are excited about converting this internship into a founding engineer role",

The Opportunity
As Trade Systems Lead at Nascent, you’ll take full ownership of the systems that support, orchestrate, and scale our trading operation—from strategy configuration and controls to workflows, tooling, and integration points across research, trading, and platform. You will not be expected to be a domain expert in market microstructure or exchange-level execution. You will be expected to lead a team to build resilient systems that let our traders and researchers move fast, safely, and with leverage.
This is a senior role with real leadership weight. You’ll lead a team, set direction, and run complex projects end-to-end—while staying close enough to the code to unblock hard problems and model what “good” looks like. You’ll partner tightly with traders, researchers, and platform leads, bringing order to ambiguity and turning intent into shipped systems.
We’re looking for an AI-native, agentic engineer: someone who instinctively uses LLMs and modern tooling to accelerate design, planning, debugging, and delivery—and teaches their team to do the same. You create leverage through systems, people, and tools.
What You’ll Do
- Own the trade systems domain: Take end-to-end ownership of the systems that power our trading workflows—designing, building, and evolving internal tools and infrastructure that sit around execution, not inside exchange microstructure.
- Lead and scale a team: Act as a true people leader: set direction, coach performance, run planning, and create clarity.
- Drive execution through chaos: Turn messy, high-stakes ideas into shipped systems. You plan work, sequence delivery, manage dependencies, and keep momentum without hiding behind process.
- Partner with senior stakeholders: Work directly with trading, research, and platform leads. You translate business needs into system design, make tradeoffs explicit, and keep everyone aligned as things change.
- Build with an AI-first mindset: Use LLMs and agentic workflows to move faster—across design docs, implementation, debugging, and project management. You raise the bar for how the team builds.
- Architect for reliability and scale: Design systems that are observable, resilient, and adaptable as strategies, venues, and team size evolve.
- Set the standard: Shape how this team plans, builds, reviews, and ships. You define what “great” looks like—technically and operationally.
About You
- You are a strong people leader who has run teams through real delivery—setting priorities, giving feedback, and holding a high bar.
- You are a systems thinker, comfortable owning complex internal platforms even if you’re not the world’s expert in the underlying domain.
- You thrive in ambiguity and bring structure through action, not decks.
- You have real project management instincts: sequencing work, managing risk, and keeping stakeholders aligned.
- You are AI-native and scrappy—you default to leverage, automation, and modern tools instead of brute force.
- You value ownership over consensus and clarity over ceremony.
Experience That Helps (But Isn’t Dogma)
- Leading engineering teams that build internal platforms or mission-critical systems
- Owning systems adjacent to trading, finance, or high-reliability operations
- Experience designing workflows, controls, or orchestration layers—not just low-level execution
- Strong backend or systems engineering background (language and stack are less important than judgment)
Deep expertise in trade execution systems is not required. Curiosity, learning speed, and ownership are.
Nice to Have’s
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across technical and business teams
- Experience working in crypto, DeFi, or high-frequency trading environments
- Ideally based within ±3 hours of EST
