Relay Graduate School of Education seeks a Licensure Exam Prep Tutor, Elementary / Secondary Math / Secondary Science / Humanities (ELA and Social Studies) to support teacher candidates preparing for teacher licensure exams covering core subjects content and content pedagogy required for specific endorsement areas. The Tutor will work closely with Relay’s licensure exam preparation department to support candidates in our educator preparation programs across the country by providing data-driven, inidualized support to teacher candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Student Support (4-6 hrs per week)

• Prepare for (e.g., send calendar invites and email reminders, gather study resources and/or practice items, create agendas, etc.) and host up to six 1:1 hour long tutoring sessions per week to teach content, review practice items, create personalized study plans, and make referrals to study resources aligned to elementary education multi-subject exams / secondary math exams / secondary science / english language arts / social studies exams
• Analyze candidate data on score reports, practice items, and diagnostic exams, using data to adjust instruction during tutoring sessions as needed
• Become intimately familiar with the licensure exams you are assigned to support (e.g., Praxis Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5001), NYSTCE Mathematics (004) exam, Praxis General Science (5436), TExES English Language Arts and Reading 7-12 (231), etc.)
• Create a culturally responsive and welcoming environment in 1:1 settings, demonstrating respect for candidates’ erse backgrounds and experiences and establishing positive relationships with candidates throughout tutoring
• Guide teacher candidates in cultivating growth mindsets, self-efficacy, and self-directed learning practices as they prepare for their licensure exams
• Utilize active listening and questioning strategies to further diagnose needs and monitor progress

Professional Development (1-2 hrs per week)

• Participate in onboarding and professional development opportunities with Relay’s licensure assessment preparation department to improve tutoring skills, grow cultural competencies, and utilize feedback and reflection
• Share resources used in tutoring sessions and provide feedback on tutoring protocols and structures to the licensure exam preparation department

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid initial-level teaching certificate in elementary education / secondary math education / secondary science education / english language arts / social studies education
• At least 2 years of work experience as a certified elementary teacher / secondary math teacher / secondary science teacher / english language arts teacher / social studies teacher
• Strong grasp of the content area (e.g., elementary education core subjects / secondary math / secondary science / english language arts / social studies content and pedagogy)
• Experience teaching or facilitating professional development for adult learners in an online environment preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

COMPENSATION

Role Overview: The Online Tutoring Center Manager oversees the online tutoring services. Location and travel

Applications are welcome from any location within the United States. This role can be performed remotely, with quarterly travel to participate in team and org-wide retreats. The program also offers professional development opportunities for international English as a Foreign Language (EFL) professionals including teachers and administrators.

Job Summary:

The TESOL Technical Officer II is a member of the Access Teacher Engagement Team reporting to the Project Manager. The TESOL Technical Officer II will oversee a team of in-country teacher training consultants and collaborate with ECA/A/L to provide technical support in the development and delivery of regional teacher training activities and resources to support Access teachers in planning and facilitating lessons aligned with identified U.S. public diplomacy goals. What Your Day Will Look Like

VirtualTutoring

• Tutor online using Carnegie Learning’s Instructional Approach and best practices for effective teaching and learning
• Regularly work in collaboration withVirtualTutoring Managers to monitor attendance reports and provide feedback on data reports to partners
• Maintain weekly availability of at least 10 hours per week

Content/Lesson Support

• Engage in a Quality Assurance process to ensure all tutoring sessions are equipped with High Quality Instructional materials.
• Provide support with the design and delivery of tutor instructors ongoing training including best practices for instruction with the tutoring lesson model, weekly and/or monthly meetings, and supporting the use of the asynchronous learning channel when assigned
• Provide technical support to tutors regarding use of the tutoring platform, accessing instructional resources, managing email accounts, etc.

Mentoring

• Lead, coach, and work collaboratively with team members to deliver inidualized instruction both in a one on one and small group settings online.
• Participate in the new-hire training process, including but not limited to observing sessions of newly hired tutors.
• Ongoing support given to current Tutors via Coaching opportunities.

Account Assistance

• Communicate student progress and attendance with families, schools, teachers andVirtualTutoring Manager as needed
• Assist with some administrative tasks as needed (including but not limited to sending surveys to teachers to gather feedback; etc.)

How you’ll make an impact:

• Educational Design and Instructional Excellence: Design and implement (mostly online, but occasionally in-person) engaging educational programs that effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Develop high-quality learning materials and instructional guides to enhance understanding and application of technical knowledge.
• Material Production and Creative Communication: Produce compelling templates, slides, and other materials for visual and verbal presentations. Showcase the ability to distill complex technical jargon into easy-to-understand language, making technology accessible to all.
• Operational Precision and Detail-Oriented Execution: Manage the logistics and execution of online sessions with flawless attention to detail (e.g. ensuring attendees receive pre-reads, making sure presenters are well-briefed and prepared, editing recordings and packaging follow-up materials), ensuring that all participants can contribute to a seamless learning experience.
• Lead Special Projects: As the Strategy & Innovation function grows and evolves, the Learning & Insights Lead may be asked to take on a variety of projects that test and build our collective capacity to communicate with our partners and with the field as a whole (e.g. peer philanthropies, grant partners, technology companies, etc).

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Subject Matter Expertise and Passion for Education: 5-7 years of directly related experience in learning and development, ideally within a medium to large organization where in-house creation of training materials was essential. We are looking for a Concept Art Mentor with a passion for film or games and the experience to teach online to prepare students for the next stage in their careers.

Help take the next generation of concept artists to the next level in your spare time by teaching online from your home. At CG Spectrum, we take great pride in the calibre of our instructors who’ve worked at major studios and are passionate about teaching. If this sounds like you, we’d love to work with you. Casual positions starting at two hours per week up through full-time positions are available.

Responsibilities

• Live video calls each week to assess students’ work to CGS standards and provide guidance and advice related to their career of study.

• Provide an additional mid-weekly review recorded (ie nonlive) via video of students assignments
• Help troubleshoot students work both creatively and technically
• Collaborate with the department head, other mentors, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings.

• Track student attendance and class schedules.
• Review material taught in class with inidual students.
• Create promotional materials and supplementary curriculum videos.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience working in the video game, film production, or web/print media
• A portfolio that demonstrates industry-standard quality
• A Bachelor degree or higher in a relevant field
• Strong time management skills
• Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
• Fluent in English
• Fluent in Photoshop, Zbrush and a 3D softwarepackage
• Anatomical, Architectural, and Mechanical design knowledge
• Good sense of light, form, color, and composition
• Understanding of visual storytelling/narrative

Nice to have

• Strong art background in traditional art skills
• Good knowledge of video games and film
• Professional art training
• Experience in illustration
