Data Science at Philo

Data underpins everything we do at Philo: making informed business decisions; analyzing and improving the quality of our streaming experience; running product experiments to optimize our signup flows; and making it easier for our users to find the perfect thing to watch. On the Data Science team, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working on a variety of interesting engagement, content discoverability, experimentation, and retention-related problems across our streaming service. You’ll be working closely with other data scientists, analysts, and engineers to build and deploy solutions directly for our service.

We are passionate about problem-solving and providing data-informed insights for the entire company using both cutting-edge techniques and proven practices in close collaboration with every department. To complete our work we build on modern open-source tools including dbt, GrowthBook, Robyn, Superset, and PyTorch as well as SaaS tools such as Segment, SageMaker, AWS Glue, Mode, Avo, and BigEye.

Qualifications

Philo is seeking a Senior Product Data Scientist with demonstrated understanding of statistical modeling, A/B/n experimentation practices, SQL, and experience independently developing data driven insights. This data scientist will have the opportunity to leverage massive structured, unstructured, transactional, and real-time data sets from a variety of sources, analyze financial and customer usage patterns, and make actionable recommendations to product, marketing, engineering, and business development teams.

In this role the Senior Product Data Scientist will support the entire product development lifecycle from product ideation and opportunity sizing to measurement and experiment design, and from causal analysis and post-launch learning to the next development cycle. Senior Data Scientists at Philo contribute to mentorship and leadership on the Data team whether they are people managers or inidual contributors. Iniduals with prior experience with people management or an interest in people management will have the opportunity to add that responsibility to their role at Philo.

Responsibilities:

• Build a deep understanding of how subscribers use Philo on each of our streaming platforms, including where they run into problems as well as identifying new features and defining the metrics to evaluate those features
• Own analytics and tracking plans, within several development work streams, from metric definition and data instrumentation design to ongoing reporting and research
• Iteratively improve our experimentation methods and establish best practices for A/B/n experiments
• Establish curated dashboards that will serve as the primary source by which we evaluate the performance of features
• Run queries to support ad-hoc product questions and create Mode dashboards and other visualizations for stakeholders
• Understand user flows, user behaviors, and long-term trends in our data to identify opportunities for new features
• Own your analytics projects, proactively identify issues and opportunities, test hypotheses, and propose solutions
• Collaborate with groups company-wide (e.g. business development, advertising operations, marketing, and support) on KPIs, including lifetime value, retention, win-back, and content consumption metrics

Key Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in a Data Science role
• Demonstrated ability to influence product roadmaps and business decisions with data
• Proven expertise in experimental design (including but not limited to A/B testing), principles of causal inference, and statistical techniques
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain and present analytical methodology and results to non-technical audiences
• Expert with statistical analysis in either R or Python
• Strong analytics fundamentals a degree in statistics, economics, a related field, or similar professional experience
• Experience in writing production-quality code in R/Python, productionizing data models and statistical models with tools such as Git, Sagemaker, and dbt, and using software engineering best practices around version control, review, and automated testing

The successful SQL Server DBA for Kin + Carta will be responsible for ensuring our Enterprise client’s critical SQL Server databases are properly protected and recoverable in the event of a disaster. You will start by learning our product offering and become familiar with our integration tools. In your First 60 Days, you will work to identify those services provided to existing customers that cannot be incorporated into the standard product and create an inventory of those services that need to be written up as Workato recipes. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Maisha Meds is seeking an expert in data analysis and engineering to manage our wonderful data team, manage our data pipelines, and create analysis for internal and external stakeholders.

Join Our Team

Maisha Meds is an organisation dedicated to improving health care in Africa. We began full-time operations in 2017 and over the past few years has grown to support over 4 million patient encounters at over 1,200 pharmacies and drug shops annually across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, and Zambia. We are building the financial and technology infrastructure to enable global health funders to pay for health outcomes at the last mile, with an initial focus on malaria case management. Recent results from a randomised controlled trial with UC Berkeley showed that our programs lead to a statistically significant 350% increase in appropriate and high quality malaria care. Based on these results, we are planning to scale the technology to reach over 10,000 health facilities and 20 million patients, and to directly pay for health outcomes for 1 million patients annually by 2024. In addition, we are actively building programs to support injectable contraceptives, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, measles and HPV vaccines, malnutrition support, and safe water interventions.

Our work is funded by USAID Development Innovation Ventures, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, Pfizer, and others, and we are starting to build partnerships with multilateral global health funders, pharmaceutical companies, and national health insurance funds to have them pay us on a contract basis for health outcomes. We use data from our point of sale software to design programs that leverage financial incentives to improve uptake of high impact health products. About the role

The data team is an important cross-functioning team at Maisha Meds. Over the past couple of years, the team has delivered on a range of projects from charting antibiotics usage across East Africa using erse data sources to real time metrics of Maisha Meds’ internal programs and projects. We’re looking for a leader to guide the team and to execute on a variety of projects. You will be using datasets that include internal transaction data on pharmacy transactions; publicly available data like maps, epidemiologic data, socioeconomic information; port-level data to understand market-level trends; and other proprietary data that may be linked with last-mile point of care data to provide a market level understanding of healthcare delivery in the region.

The Enterprise Data & Analytics Team is building out a team of Data Warehouse Engineers to support mission-transforming work through data at the American Red Cross. As a result we are hiring multiple Data Warehouse Engineers to help do this exciting work!

As a Data Warehouse Engineer for the American Red Cross, you will be part of a Data Management team that is modernizing and transforming our data and reporting capabilities across multiple verticals by implementing a new modernized data architecture.

The Data Warehouse Engineer will help develop, maintain and support an enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data and will be responsible for database design and implementation of agreed upon standards. PAY INFORMATION:

The annual salary range for this position is $120K- $125K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):

• Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer academic backgrounds in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field. • 3+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering, business intelligence or related field.

• Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.

As a member of the Teleport Customer Success team, an Implementation Engineer (IE) is responsible for providing technical assistance to customers who are implementing, operating, and maintaining our software solutions (self-hosted and cloud-hosted) during the crucial onboarding phase. An IE is a member of our Customer Success team, who is focused on providing technical support assistance for customers who have purchased our software product, Teleport. What you’ll be doing:

• Independently diagnose and resolve problems in the Teleport product, as well as in the customer environment (e.g Dockers, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction of account base throughout the onboarding process

About the Team

The Information Security team is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to work on securing DoorDash’s data and infrastructure within its cloud computing environment. You will be a part of our inclusive, collaborative team responsible for building a safe and reliable delivery network. On the Security team we need to protect all of our customers, as well as the logistics engine itself. It’s no simple task, but it wouldn’t be interesting if it was!

About the Role

• Work directly with engineering and security leaders to enact security strategy for DoorDash’s cloud infrastructure and applications that run within that cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure applications running within the cloud environment honor the requirements of information security policy and standards for segmentation and configuration.
• Develop and implement network and process controls for Kubernetes environments.
• Create and improve monitoring and tooling around IAM to ensure least-privilege access is granted to employees and applications that run within the cloud.
• Create and manage a data loss prevention program to prevent sensitive data from proliferating within, or leaving, the cloud network.
• Assess and present infrastructure security risk solutions and tradeoffs to DoorDash leadership that enables risk-based decision making.
• Define and implement network and endpoint sensors that feed data and metrics into DoorDash’s security monitoring framework.
• Define, document and implement security standards, guidelines and procedures for secure operations in a cloud infrastructure environment.
• As part of architectural and design review committees, provide actionable feedback in engineering design reviews

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience as an infrastructure engineer, cloud security engineer, cloud security engineer or a system administrator in an information security discipline.
• Breadth of technical experience across various infrastructure and security areas running in large production environments.
• Expertise with cloud infrastructure and management in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience solving complex, systemic issues that require creative thinking and solutions.
• Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities with hands-on experience leading root cause analysis.
• Demonstrated track record of driving improvements to a company’s security posture.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – you can explain security design with respect to cloud infrastructure to security and engineering personnel.

Position Summary

The Data Specialist will maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Girls on the Run’s analytical reports, datasets, and reporting processes. The Data Specialist also provides administrative support, technical help, and data stewardship for GOTR systems. Principle Responsibilities

Reporting and Analysis

• Maintain, update, analyze, and manipulate Excel reports.
• Provide quality control and quality assurance of data submitted by field councils.

• Work collaboratively with HQ teams to understand ongoing reporting requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in operational data sets.

Cross-Functional Tech Support
