About the role

ConsenSys is currently seeking a Technical Writer with a passion for the developer experience, and particularly enterprise blockchain software. You will have an interest in or experience writing documentation for dApps, protocols and APIs you are passionate about the needs of users in relation to these and communicating related concepts clearly.Our ideal candidate can comprehend blockchain and Ethereum concepts quickly and understand the user journey from multiple perspectives.

You’ll be comfortable working directly with development teams without extensive design or requirements documentation as input. Our daily work involves reviewing engineering pull requests, building the latest master, and using our command line products to see it working for yourself. Having a dig around in the code base is sometimes the best way to answer a question.

We’re remote first and our tech writing team and developers span multiple time zones. The reality of this means working on multiple work streams at once. The ability to independently manage multiple tasks and changing priorities will be key to success in this role.

You will work closely with our product managers and directly with our user base (generally support engineers in our community) to identify key recurring areas of confusion and create corresponding content, whether written, visual, or webinars, and be able to partner with community contributors on documentation through wikis and other means. We work in a fast-changing crypto environment, and there are many ways you can make a great impact.

Responsibilities:

• Write new documentation such as user guides, FAQs, video tutorials, and technical support docs for key aspects of our open source Ethereum software, including command line tools, API reference documents, and architecture documents
• Have an in-depth understanding of the product and what customers need to succeed with MetaMask
• Proactively identify gaps in the documentation or knowledge base articles
• Work with support engineers, product managers, and other subject matter experts in a collaborative editing environment
• Edit and review content created by others for technical accuracy and clarity
• Assist the marketing team in creating other resources and thought leadership including tear sheets, case studies, and white papers
• Provide feedback to the product team on how our products might be made easier to use

Required Skills:

The Role:

The Role

As Addepar’s Sr. Database Administrator, you’ll be ensuring the availability and reliability of Addepar’s core production databases. You’ll play a leading role in implementing and maintaining database administration. Addepar moves quickly, so it’s vital that you ensure our databases are running at optimum speed and efficiency. This position involves critical duties and responsibilities that must continue to be performed during crises and contingency operations, which may necessitate extended hours of work. In this position, your responsibility will include system design, configuration, deployment, and operations of database operations and database observability systems and tools. These systems include monitoring services and infrastructure, log collection and analytics, and Database Performance Monitoring (DPM). Together these systems and tools serve as a critical part of Addepar’s cloud infrastructure services. Duties and responsibilities

• Driving activity and useful knowledge transfer and mutual aid through online platforms including Slack and email.
• Creating content for and distributing newsletters and other knowledge bases (including written, audio and video content), and packaging up content from others in suitable formats to share.
• Organising, hosting and facilitating events, both online and in person, including workshops, discussion groups, roundtables, talks, “show and tell” demos, learning sessions, creative sessions, networking events, coworking, and other types of events.

About you

We are looking for someone self-driven, organised, and highly communicative in their work. You should be comfortable running a number of projects and activities at the same time, organising events and building and maintaining relationships. You will need to be great at empathising and engaging with community members at all levels – from junior developers to executive directors.

What the Role Is

The Expectations

In your first 30 days, you will become an integrated member of our engineering team. You’ll become familiar with our production systems, software development workflow, and application architecture for CockroachDB and CockroachCloud. We believe that it’s essential for you to take this first month to become familiar with our technology and our company.

About the Role:

Most of the team’s work is about understanding what problems exist in government services, how big those problems are, and how we can address them. We do a lot of descriptive data analysis using case, survey, and event data to identify and size problems. We collaborate with qualitative researchers and designers to identify potential improvements that help more people get through each step in the process. Finally, we love running experiments to evaluate those potential improvements, whether small a/b tests in Optimizely, more extensive changes in website flows and logic, or variations in text and email messages to help people get or keep benefits.

We’re committed to sharing what we learn from our research so that government agencies and others in the civic tech ecosystem can benefit from what we’ve learned. We document research thoroughly and have a knowledge manager on staff to help us synthesize findings and reflect on what we’ve learned and what questions we ought to pursue next. We disseminate findings through our blog, white papers, and in journals when we’re collaborating with academic partners.

The team has nearly a dozen members and backgrounds range from social science to human computer interaction, statistics, and public policy. Team members regularly support each other on analyses, interpreting results, storytelling, etc. We lean heavily toward quantitative research with only occasional use of ML. We’re growing and have flexibility with how we allocate staff to managers: depending on how much experience you have with government work, you may want to initially split your time as a manager and an inidual contributor.

Job Summary

The Senior IT Auditor is responsible for conducting internal system audits and provide insight on risk factors within the Barnes & Noble IT environment. The inidual will assist in evaluating the Barnes & Noble IT General Control environment (ITGC) across all in scope SOX systems annually by testing and documenting IT general controls, application controls, and complimentary user entity controls (CUEC’s) for information systems integrity and transaction accuracy. Candidates must have direct hands-on experience in IT audits and functional experience in multiple technologies and have sound understanding of ITGC SOX requirements.
