About the Role

Systems Analyst is a key role in the Integrations team under the Corporate Technology umbrella. In this role, you will evaluate existing systems, business processes, and be involved in designing integrations between various systems. You will work closely with business partners, program managers, development and QA team members. You are expected to gather, analyze, and understand business needs, perform research and analysis on the requests to prepare functional requirements and technical  solution. You are expected to create mock services, API documentation using swagger. You will support development team with the implementation of the solution and QA team during testing. You will regularly meet with stakeholders for prioritization and planning. You are expected to communicate regular updates with management and stakeholders. 

This role is remote within the US, but we are prioritizing candidates based in Central and Eastern time zone for team alignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The A+E Designer I is responsible for duties that include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for converting field notes, architectural, engineering and/or plan sketches into working construction drawings using AutoCAD per customer specifications.

SPA is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect – AI Systems to lead the architecture of an AI-enabled decision-support system integrated into an existing operational environment. This role owns how AI reasoning, deterministic logic, data, and human decision authority work together in a production system where trust, auditability, and mission impact matter. The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Platforms team is building the next generation of scalable and responsible AI/ML infrastructure and services to power products that solve real-world consumer challenges. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with business leaders, data scientists, software engineers, AI/ML engineers, data engineers, and program managers, focusing on scaling AI/ML platforms with cloud and Generative AI capabilities and driving adoption of platforms that deliver measurable value across the payment ecosystem.

Essential Functions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience with a bachelor's degree, or 8+ years with an advanced degree (Master's/MBA), or 8+ years with a PhD.

Department Overview

The System Performance, Reliability and Resiliency Strategy department within the overall Electric Transmission and Distribution Engineering organization is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the resources necessary to successfully execute PG&E's Electric Reliability Strategy and initiatives. This team of forward-thinking iniduals will be tasked with deploying technology and infrastructure and influencing the organization to achieve the company's reliability goals. The team is responsible for implementing programs required to modernize the electric grid allowing for safe, resilient and efficient operations. The department participates in a cross-functional team of internal and consulting participants being tasked with leading the transition of a project from development and testing to being operational for each phase of each project.

The role will be part of a technically focused, cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists to develop engineering solutions to improve the resilience and reliability of PG&E's electric grid by leveraging high-resolution data from sources such as synchro phasors, SCADA, load flow studies, stability analyses, and asset health systems.

• Design and develop innovative grid solutions to achieve a climate resilient grid
• Provides clear directions to teams and other departments in the areas of grid modernization, including DER integration, forecasting, capacity planning, grid sectionalizing, and Integrated Grid and investment planning to improve grid resiliency.

• Produces vision and strategy collateral, and creates roadmaps to lead modernization efforts
• Serves as one of the primary technological points of contact in the organization, responsible for guidance and overarching technical oversight, governance, architecture alignment and construction efforts, including team leadership and mentoring

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in IT with responsibilities in one or more of the areas - Technical Architecture, Application Development, Business process management and/or Enterprise Application Integration (SOA) with Appian or other BPM tools is required.
• 3+ years in defining and documenting architecture for technology implementations leveraging different architectural views.
• 4+ years of experience in all phases of software development for large-scale business critical applications following Agile methodologies.
• 4+ years of recent hands-on experience with Appian.
• 3+ years of experience developing Appian Plugin
• 4+ years of experience in the design and implementation of SOAP and REST Web Service.
• 4+ years of working knowledge of Application Servers like JBoss, Weblogic, IIS, Tomcat etc. as part of the installation.
• 4+ years experienced in configuring, debugging, and systems integration including configuring forms, reports, underlying logic, and interface components as a developer.
• 4+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL scripting. Oracle Databases preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working with Appian Tempo.
• Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
