Ideal for a proactive problem-solver who can balance autonomy with responsiveness in a role where quiet stretches and urgent deliverables often coexist.
Who we are
Adelaide is the leader in one of the fastest-growing areas of advertising: attention measurement and activation.
Since 2020, we’ve become the trusted media quality measurement partner for 40% of Fortune 50 brands who rely on our award-winning AU metric to plan smarter campaigns, invest in high-quality inventory, and drive stronger business outcomes. Our business continues to scale rapidly, outperforming the industry with a 35% three-year CAGR. What began as a 9-person startup in 2019 is now a team of more than 75.
The past year brought meaningful expansion. We launched the AU ecosystem, giving brands, media agencies, and publishers a unified way to leverage and transact on AU. Leading brands like Dell, Diageo, and Jaguar Land Rover—along with premium publishers such as Hearst, Spotify, and The New York Times—continue to demonstrate AU’s value across the media lifecycle.

Location: United States
Job Description:
Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
The Build Systems team within Figma’s Developer Experience organization owns Figma’s build and CI infrastructure, enabling engineers to ship changes to production quickly and safely. We build and operate core platforms across our polyglot monorepo, including build systems, artifact repositories, merge queues, test frameworks, and CI pipelines.
We’re looking for an experienced technical leader to help shape these platforms, uplevel the team, and deliver high-impact platforms that accelerate engineering velocity. The ideal candidate has deep experience with large monolithic codebases, builds durable and scalable systems, and is motivated by solving high-leverage problems that amplify productivity across the engineering organization.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
- Drive technical roadmap and strategy for the Build Systems team
- Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to identify developer pain points and design elegant, scalable solutions
- Lead complex, multi-quarter initiatives reducing build/test times and improving CI reliability, all while balancing technical excellence with pragmatic delivery
- Design, build, and maintain modern developer tools including scalable build systems, distributed CI platforms, and test frameworks that serve thousands of engineers
- Architect and implement large-scale infrastructure on AWS that powers our entire build pipeline to ensure reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency
- Mentor and uplevel the team through technical guidance, code reviews, and architectural leadership, leading by example and actively investing in your teammates’ growth
- Collaborate with product engineers (your customers), infrastructure teams, and executive stakeholders, and communicate technical decisions clearly to audiences ranging from inidual contributors to senior leadership
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in build systems, CI, and developer tooling, and incorporate applicable technologies into our roadmap
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 8+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years on Infrastructure, Platform, or Developer Experience teams
- Deep expertise in build systems (e.g., Bazel, Buck, Pants, Gradle) and operating large-scale monorepos
- Experience optimizing CI/CD, building developer tooling at scale, and designing reliable, high-performance distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with AWS, CI platforms (e.g., Buildkite), Infrastructure as Code, and strong coding skills in languages such as Go, TypeScript, Python, or Ruby
- Proven technical leadership, with a track record of setting technical direction, driving cross-team initiatives, and communicating effectively across a wide range of stakeholders
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Experience migrating large codebases to modern build systems (especially Bazel)
- Experience building test frameworks and improving test infrastructure
- Have excellent problem-solving skills, using a systematic and thorough approach grounded in first principles, with a bias for action and a strong focus on impact
- You’re willing to work on grungy problems when they have a high impact on the business or the health of our platform
- Care deeply about the quality of the software and systems you build, with an artisan mentality and a constant drive to improve your craft, while striking the right balance between idealism and pragmatism
- Finally, Figma is a close-knit company with a strong culture that promotes inclusivity and collaboration, taking ambitious goals and having fun doing so. You deeply value these traits and see yourself actively contributing to it
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. - Thrives at the intersection of secure software engineering, data-heavy systems, and product innovation
- Is fluent in AI tooling (Cursor, Devin, Copilot, etc.) and knows how to turn them into real velocity — not toys
- Can design full-stack solutions, think strategically about risk and performance, and help us move business logic closer to the data layer (Postgres + Supabase)
What You’ll Do
- Full-Stack Development: Build and maintain secure, scalable web applications using Next.js/React, TypeScript, and Node – backed by PostgreSQL on Supabase (and AWS RDS during migration). Own features end-to-end from UI to database.
- Database-Centric Application Logic: Design and implement business logic close to the data using Postgres functions, views, triggers, Row-Level Security (RLS), and Supabase Edge Functions, minimizing unnecessary middleware and enabling high performance and strong data isolation.
- AI-Accelerated Development: Treat tools like Cursor, Devin, GitHub Copilot, and agent frameworks as core parts of your workflow. You'll use them to scaffold and refactor full-stack features, generate and evolve schemas, migrations, and RLS policies and build internal agents that automate repetitive engineering tasks and glue systems together
- Application Security First: Embed security best practices into every layer of development — from secure coding and dependency management to data protection and authentication/authorization (Supabase Auth, OAuth2/OIDC, SSO). Collaborate with security researchers to ensure features align with threat models.
- Product Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with product managers and designers to translate customer pain points into impactful, intuitive features. Participate in product discovery and help shape roadmaps with a strong technical and data-informed perspective.
- Architect & Scale: Design and optimize API contracts, edge endpoints, and event flows using Next.js (server components, API routes) and Supabase (Edge Functions, real-time). Consider performance, resiliency, and multi-region deployment (read replicas, data partitioning) as first-class concerns.
- Data Expertise: Model and optimize relational data in PostgreSQL for large, multi-tenant workloads. Own indexing strategies, query performance, and data partitioning approaches to support 10x–30x growth in customers and data.
- Security-Integrated DevOps: Support automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, database migrations, and vulnerability scanning throughout the development lifecycle. Work closely with infrastructure engineers on Supabase + AWS environments, observability, and performance tuning.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide guidance and thoughtful code reviews to peers, fostering a culture of quality, security, and ownership. Help raise the bar on full-stack, data-centric, and AI-native engineering practices.
- Continuous Learning: Stay ahead of trends in AI-assisted engineering, agentic systems, application security, Next.js, and modern Postgres/Supabase practices, and share what you learn with the team.
What We’re Looking for
- Senior Full-Stack Engineer with experience building and shipping production web apps using Next.js/React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and a Node-based backend
- AI-native developer who regularly uses AI-assisted dev tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Devin) to move faster, improve code quality, and explore design options, and knows when to verify output
- Strong backend and data modeling skills in Postgres; experience with Supabase (Auth, RLS, Edge Functions, migrations) or similar Postgres-based platforms is a plus
- Security-conscious engineer with a solid understanding of secure web application development, authentication/authorization, and modern security best practices; familiarity with software supply chain security or interest in learning quickly
- Experience deploying and operating applications in the cloud (ideally AWS), with working knowledge of Docker, CI/CD, and modern managed or serverless platforms
- Product-minded and collaborative, balancing technical rigor with user and business needs, caring about testing and maintainability, and communicating clearly in a remote, cross-functional team
Your 90-Day Success Path
- 30 Days: Ship small full-stack features in our Next.js + Supabase stack; learn our security and data architecture; demonstrate effective use of AI tools + agentic workflows in your day-to-day work.
- 60 Days: Own and deliver secure, high-impact features end-to-end; contribute to schema and API design; help refine patterns for RLS, migrations, edge functions, and internal AI/agent tooling.
- 90 Days: Lead new initiatives, drive improvements in performance and security posture, shape our full-stack and AI-native architecture, and mentor peers on Next.js, Supabase, and AI-accelerated development.
Our Tech Stack
- Languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python
- Frontend: Next.js, React
- Backend / Platform: Supabase (PostgreSQL, Auth, Edge Functions, Storage), Node/TypeScript services
- Data: PostgreSQL (Supabase + AWS RDS during migration), Redis
- Auth & Security: Supabase Auth, OAuth2/OIDC, GitHub, Trivy, Snyk
- Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes (for supporting services), modern CI/CD
- AI Tools: Cursor, Devin, GitHub Copilot, and modern agent frameworks where appropriate
Compensation
Our salary ranges are categorized into two tiers based on geographic location:
- Tier 1 (San Francisco, New York, Seattle): $227,000 - $270,000
- Tier 2 (All Other Locations): $181,000 - $216,000
The final base salary will be determined by experience, skill set, and specific location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for equity and benefits.

- Distributed Systems: Experience designing event-driven architectures, managing concurrency, and building fault-tolerant services (e.g., using Kafka, gRPC, REST).
- Data Fluency: Proficiency with Relational Databases (PostgreSQL) and experience with Vector Databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) or search engines (Elasticsearch).
- Builder Mindset: A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and is passionate about taking AI from "prototype" to "production-grade."
And Ideally:
- LLM Ops & Evaluation: Experience designing frameworks to evaluate agent performance (accuracy, latency, cost) and implementing CI/CD for AI workflows.
- Cloud Native: Experience deploying and scaling services in AWS using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Graph & Search: Familiarity with Knowledge Graphs or advanced search algorithms to improve agent reasoning.
- Security Context: Understanding of cybersecurity concepts (vulnerability management, cloud security) is a plus, but not required if you are a strong systems engineer.
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship for work visas of any kind at the time of hire, or at any point during employment.
