We focus on the outputs of work, not where it’s completed, with an expectation that colleagues spend around one day a week in the office (or a minimum of four days per month) to connect and collaborate. There will be times when getting together in one location makes sense, but day to day, our teams have the freedom to decide where to work, and we trust them to balance business needs with their own preferences.

Job Description:
The world is making the shift to cleaner energy, slowly. The planet is changing, fast.
That’s why Akaysha builds, owns, and operates the most powerful mega-scale battery storage solutions of today, and it’s why we’ll continue to build more. But what we are really building is a better future for everyone we share the planet with.
With a 30GWh+ portfolio spanning APAC, the Americas, and the EU and a global team of over 200, should we slow down, or should the world catch up?
As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you’ll be joining the Cyber team responsible for implementing best practices across three operational BESS sites to embed security by design, reduce attack surfaces, enhance visibility and ensure asset reliability and availability.
Building on this momentum, the position will focus on operationalising and optimising cybersecurity practices across Akaysha’s segregated OT (BESS) and corporate IT environments. These environments have distinct security considerations and priorities, providing the opportunity to deepen your experience in OT while staying current with evolving IT security practices.
This role provides the flexibility to be based at Akaysha’s Melbourne (HQ), or Sydney Office with the option to work in hybrid capacity – spend time in the office, and at home.
Your experience will be critical in advancing Akaysha’s cyber maturity, and your work will make a tangible impact as you:
- Own and enhance key security platforms to establish consistent, scalable processes for analysing alerts, prioritising risks, and driving timely remediation of vulnerabilities across internal and external delivery teams.
- Oversee all OT‑related penetration testing engagements to ensure effective planning, execution, and validation of remediation activities with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive uplift of cyber logging, monitoring, and incident response capabilities to improve visibility, log quality, event correlation, and response workflows across both IT and OT environments.
- Integrate threat intelligence into incident response workflows for proactive defence.
Making an impact in this role will rely on experience across the following areas:
- Incident Detection & Response: Ability to lead cyber security incident response across OT and IT environments, ensuring effective threat detection, incident response, and remediation.
- Security Tools & Solutions Management: Ability to design and operate security tools to drive security risk mitigations, and to ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks.
- Vulnerability Management: Expertise in evaluating system and application vulnerabilities and interpreting their security impact to inform risk posture and remediation priorities.
- Cybersecurity Framework & Risk Management: Proficiency in applying cybersecurity frameworks to guide control selection, risk assessment, and the design of security measures aligned to organisational requirements.
Participation in an on-call roster to provide after-hours support for critical cyber incidents and urgent operational matters in accordance with company policies and incident response procedures is a requirement of this role.
Our people are Akaysha’s greatest asset. We support career growth and wellbeing through initiatives such as:

Job Description:
About Caribou
At Caribou, we care about giving people financial freedom so they can focus on what’s most important to them. Today, less than two percent of Americans refinance their auto loans despite drastic increases in the cost of new and used cars. We see huge potential to help folks reduce their monthly auto expenses, as well as increase the predictability of those expenses over time. We do this by building technology to pair customers with community banks and credit unions, and ushering them through the process quickly. On average, our drivers save $159/month on their car loans while protecting their investment long term.
Caribou is led by leaders from the technology, automotive, and finance industries. We’re proud to be backed by a great team of investors, including QED Investors, Goldman Sachs, Moderne Ventures, Accomplice, Link Ventures, Motley Fool Ventures and others.
About the Role
Do you thrive on building testing platforms that make great tests inevitable? Do you believe that when engineers take the lead on testing their own work, the end result is a superior product? This may be the Quality Engineering role for you.
You'll join a team of 3 QE engineers using Playwright, Claude Code, and Harness to build the frameworks, tooling, and standards that make robust automated testing the path of least resistance. RSpec, Capybara, Playwright, Harness, Claude Code. You'll evolve and standardize how we use these tools across teams. Our goal: help Caribou reach DORA Elite performance by empowering engineers, not blocking or testing for them.
What You'll Do
Guide framework evolution: Standardize patterns across our testing stack (RSpec, Playwright, Jest) and make architectural decisions about new tool adoption
Build enablement infrastructure: Design factory patterns, data seeds, and service stubs enabling sophisticated testing in inner development loops without full integration
Define quality standards together: Establish coverage thresholds, test suite structures for product types, and boundary metrics giving teams clear targets
Optimize delivery pipelines: Integrate quality gates into CI/CD, balance performance and reliability, and analyze data to eliminate shipping bottlenecks
Mentor and share best practices: Collaborate with teams on avoiding flaky tests, designing testable code, and building robust automated coverage
Enable data-informed improvements: Analyze quality metrics (flaky tests, incidents, DORA) to identify systemic issues and facilitate process improvements
What We're Looking For
Experience with:
Ruby on Rails applications
Building or evolving test automation frameworks (RSpec, Capybara, Playwright, or similar)
Production systems and collaborative debugging
Translating quality metrics into actionable improvements (DORA metrics experience a plus)
Mentoring or coaching teams to strengthen engineering practices
Nice to have:
GCP, Docker, or containerized environments
CI/CD pipeline optimization
Interest in using AI to boost testing productivity
Ruby on Rails experience is required—most of our platform is Rails.
We know strong candidates rarely meet 100% of requirements. If you're excited about quality enablement and meet most of these, we'd love to hear from you. We encourage candidates from non-traditional backgrounds to apply.
Location and Flexibility
This role can be based out of our Caribou office in Denver, CO. Alternatively, this role may work remotely from a state where Caribou operates with a preference for the Chicago, IL, Denver, CO or San Francisco, CA markets. This role may require attendance at occasional in-person team meetings.
About You
You're a pragmatic, technically-minded leader who sees quality as shared responsibility. You're guided by data and possess the strategic vision to turn quality insights into engineering action. You communicate effectively with both technical teams and executives.
You, like us, are committed to achieving your goals. At Caribou, we have three core values: Give a damn. Velocity. Make the assist. We're owners who move with urgency towards our outcomes and help each other along the way.
How we will take care of you
Everyone at Caribou is a valued team member. Our compensation and benefits package includes:
Competitive compensation: $147k - $183k
Eligible for annual performance-based Incentive
Equity options
401(k) retirement plan
Generous paid time off including Flexible Time Off (FTO) for all employees and 100% paid parental leave for all parents
Exceptional benefits including highly subsidized medical, dental, and vision plans, and fully company-paid mental health, disability, and basic life insurance
Optional benefits to suit your inidual circumstances such as HSAs (with Caribou HSA contributions), FSAs, supplemental life and health, legal, and pet insurance
Up to $1,000 per year for eligible professional development expenses
Employee referral program
Our Core Values
We come from all walks of life and are joined together by our shared values, which guide our work and how we work together.
Give a damn. What we’re doing matters. We show up determined to deliver results, and we love it.
Velocity. We’re intentional about where we’re going and we race towards it.
Make the assist. We have erse strengths. We offer and ask for help so we all win.
Caribou is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, pregnancy status, marital status, military or protected veteran status, genetics, or any other characteristic protected by law.
